Britain's Gun Control Not Working

When Britain banned handguns in 1997, lawmakers promised that crime would drop. As pro-gun critics predicted, however, violent crime has soared. According to John Lott, who writes frequently about the effect if gun control laws on crime rates, The British government says that gun crimes in England and Wales have nearly doubled in the four years from 1998 to 2002.
Other alarming statistics show that since 1996, the year before the ban, robbery is up 45 percent and murders are up 54 percent.
In response, the liberal Labor Party is considering new gun laws that would make it illegal to own guns that fire blanks (like starter's pistols) and even imitation toy guns. Labor is also considering making it more difficult to own a shotgun, even though they are so rarely used in crimes in Britain that the Home Office doesn't bother to keep track of crimes commited with them.

IF YOU DON'T LIKE MY RIGHTS - GET OUT OF MY COUNTRY (this includes politicians)
Their to STUPID to learn from their Past.
Have we been down this path before or what?
In the 40's they had to go begging other countries for arms to defend themselves against invasion. I'm not talking about tanks and ships but actual rifles and pistols because they had left most of theirs at Dunkirk. Wasn't there a large program along the lines of: Donate A Firearm For The Defense Of Britain? The NRA had an article a while back about most of the donated weapons, some of which were quite valuable, being destroyed by the Brits.
If their assinine banning of weapons is any kind of reasonable idea, why the h3ll didn't they just pass a law outlawing Nazi aggression in 1939? It would have saved an untold amount of grief and bloodshed had it been found to ACTUALLY WORK!
Those who refuse to learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. IMHO: The British have always had DELUSIONS of adequacy.

The first year of thier gun ban violent crime went up 50%.
None of them can see it.
They need to look at Kennesaw, GA.
Crime there dropped 97% the first year. Well after the city counsel said that all home and shop owners had to own guns [:D]
Nowhere in the U.S. Constitution does it state: "Seperation of Church and State".
"Those who beat their guns into plow shares; will plow for those who don't."
"Isaiah 5:20 ?Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"
One might always hope..after all,it's never too late to throw off the shackles...
