Rusty would rather drive than ride?

Well, Rusty and I are in the country again. We left Lewisville yesterday and drove to Dublin. We had a good evening when several friends dropped by, and got a little shooting in before it turned dark. Got up this morning and decided to check some fence. I saddled up Duke, but he didn't want to ride old Star. He wanted to follow me around in the truck.
I've been letting him drive on the land since he doesn't have his learners permit yet, but I've always been in the truck with him, but I thought, what the heck, he can drive the truck, and if we need tools, they'll be right there.
Boy, was I wrong! That boy found more reasons to have to "run" up to the barn than I ever thought. I'll bet he put 50 miles on the truck this morning running back and fourth across the fields. Got me so tickled I was about to bust a stitch.[:D]
We're in for lunch, and then will head back towards Lewisville in a few hours. I've got to stop in Stephenville to pick up some old gun parts from a friend, and may let Rusty do a little driving on the back roads. I have to think about it because I really need to wait until he gets his learners permit, but I would like to see if he can stay in a lane.
We'll see.
PS, I forgot how slow this old laptop is with dial-up![;)]
PPS, Old Star followed Duke and I around all morning. She just couldn't understand why she wasn't saddled up too! Silly old horse![:D]
How you doin'!

I would have been chuckling too.
