BATF warning

From the desk of Agent Schmuckatelli, BATFe...

Dear AW/THR/GB/AK47/AR15/Glocktalk/SigForum,etc members;
Seems 'someone' has posted a question or two on each and every forum I could quickly glance over the last day or two, always dealing with the topic of fully automatic firearms or other class III issues, and bordering on illegal in-and-of themselves.
Usually, they have few post counts but claim to be long-time lurkers with alot of experience- but not always. Not that it would be any trouble to get the forums to cooperate and create a fictional login with lots of posts.
Questions themselves are the usual:
-How do you make a (choose: full auto/ silencer/ atomic bomb, etc)?
- Lets post pictures of ourselves holding unregistered FA's? in a schoolyard? or on the steps of the capitol building?
- Is a hundred billion pounds of blackpowder I have been saving to make grenades in my garage next to my flint and steel collection a bad thing?
- Is it legal for a gumball dispenser to be converted to full auto?
etc. etc.
(OK, I made that last one up)
Usually, you guys smell a troll pretty quickly. I recall one fellows response of "Why shore! Its right here under my BATF badge." But just in case you miss one, I'd just like to say that I am counting on you all to take the bait here.

Please make my holiday season bright and boost my arrest numbers just in time for the AWB renewal, and the upcoming elections. Lots of incumbent politicians are counting on you. I warn you: do not dissappoint these powerful senators!

I could lose my job!

Even if we don't convict you we can still hold you indefinitely, freeze your assets, ruin your reputation, take all your guns, computers, and anything else we want and never give them back.

Do not risk bringing this on yourselves!

Please just make it easy and striaghtfoward and do or admit to something foolish on these forums! Even if you are just joking it will be enough for me.

It will not only allow us to take you dangerous people off the streets, but we can then prevent communication between other conspirators by subsequestly SHUTTING DOWN THE FORUMS for good!

And have a Happy New Year!
Regards,
Agent Schmuckatelli, BATFe

Well I remember a couple of months ago member NitroUZ asked for instructions on how to produce dynamite at home and I don't recall anyone screaming he was a plant for the BATFE. On the other hand I've advised a number of members here about various firearms regulations and have been accused by at least one of being an ATF agent myself! My opinion is that since the BATFE does not even have enough agents to perform inspections on FFL holders they sure don't have enough folks available to sit in front of a computer screen all day waiting for someone on line to take the bait and provide detailed information on how they turned their personal AR-15 into an M16 in direct violation of the National Firearms Act.

Pickenup, I am interested too.. I cannot believe the ignorance of some in society when it comes to full autos. I shot mine the other day and had to show a party the permit to convince them it WAS legal to have.

Looks like old Red223 must be a BATFE agent! Since the cut off date for the registration of new machineguns ended in May, 1986 no one can produce a new MG for their own use today. If you took an 80% AR type receiver and drilled it for the GI auto sear, the minute you drilled the two holes-- you do not drill straight through the receiver, you have drill the left side and then the right in sepreate actions [now you all know too much!] you've created a new machinegun and unless you are a Class 2 manufacturer and are building this MG for the military, LE sales, or export you are going to prison. Here is the ONLY way to legally turn an 80% receiver into a machinegun: Complete the receiver as a legal semi auto, go out and spend $4000 for a registered "drop in" auto sear or half that amount for a registered "lightning link", then install them and enjoy. The BATFE knows this and now everyone else does to.

Seems to me that when people start asking questions on how to make a semi-auto full auto, to drill a receiver to install an auto searer or what it takes to make an AR15 into a M16, these people are most likely going to try something illegal and sneak around the red tape. I believe that when someone starts flirting with disaster they may just get burnt by someone, either on here by BIG BROTHER monitoring postings or someone at a local range ratting on someone because they show up with a full auto. I look at it this way, it's their butt in the proverbal sling if caught. If you don't think BATF doesn't look at sites like this, think of it this way. Police monitor computer sites to capture child stalkers, so why wouldn't BATF monitor sites like this? After all, fighting terrorist nowadays takes on many types of skills and when you see people asking alot of questions regarding illegal activities, it doesn't take much to show a pattern or to send up a warning flag.
    Just food for thought....

It also seems a tad funny that those who damn all gun laws straight to hell will be the first to complain when somebody defys one of those evil gun laws.

Whoa ?? You can drill up your gun and ruin it all you want and be legal... Just don't have any full auto sears or ANY parts..ie.. short barrels, sears, ect in your possession with the rifle. If you want a full auto past 86 as Mark suggested it has to be a REGISTERED sear. Therefore Uncle Sam knows it all.. along with the papertrail.

    Mark,
The 9th Circuit Court dropped charges against Robert Stewart, a convicted felon, who made his own machine guns and was selling 'gun kits' thru shotgun news.

The Federal Court contradicts your legal interpretation.

The court docket is in one of my previous posts. They declared the manufacturing ban does not apply to scratch built personal firearms as the Federal Ban was intended to stop commerce and conversions.

Merc, looks like I am lagging behind on my prices...thank you very much. I'm not going to argue with your red so all convicted felons living within the 9th circut's jurisdiction please feel free to assemble as many machineguns as you please, but I suggest the rest of us hold off and follow the current regulations to the letter...unless of course you chose to be a test case yourself. As a firearms dealer I urge everyone here to use extreme caution if you are thinking about going around the existing regulations based solely on one court case. On the other hand if anyone is currently building their own post May 1986 machinegun right now please feel free to post deatailed drawings, notarized statements, copies of all of your credit card receipts for the parts kits and the names and addresses of your suppliers along with a few dozen CLEAR photos of you actually assembling this machinegun as it would be a big help...thank you. Signed- agent Mark.

Red, your views and "facts" sure counter everything we've been taught over the years. Also, you sure sure push your opinions very vocally.

I'm sorry. A FEDERAL Court dropped the charges against a convicted felon who had many, many home made machine guns and said the manufacture ban effects commerce only and convicted felons may possess home made guns.

The Supreme Court will never overturn this case. I see this case as a big step for pro-gun people.

If I were to make my own M16 I wouldn't pay $4000 for some stupid autosear, if you know how the mechanism operates you can simulate it.

Why yes Mr. ATF Agent I have 40 home made machine guns....[:D][:D][:D]
