looks like we are heading for another Waco. That polygamist in Utah that is wanted by the FBI is supposedly having his people "stock pile" weapons. The media makes you think its illegal. I think the government and media just use it as a excuse to raid peoples homes

Makes sense to me. If they can have multiple wives they should be able to have multiple guns. might even make it easier cause you could tell one wife about one gun and another wife about another gun and they'd never know how many guns you had so they couldnt nag you about having too many guns.

I'm hoping that this government learned the lessons from Waco and won't turn the Jeffs thing into another fiasco. Of course, I don't put it past this government, but we don't have Butch Reno at the helm and we don't have a Democrat-controlled Congress to hold mock hearings.

FWIW, I'm wondering why any man would want to go through the hassle of having more than one wife. I love my wife to death, but my God, I can barely keep myself sane trying to figure out what she's thinking/wanting, let alone multiple wives.

Yeah, I know. Leave it to Albert to leave out important facts of the story.

Of course, he's probably of the opinion that 16th Amendment was never really ratified, which explains why he left out those charges.

quote:Warren Jeffs, the leader of a large polygamist sect, is now a state fugitive as well as a federal one. Jeffs, who has been hiding from the law for over a year, had new charges filed against him Thursday. For the first time, Utah has made a criminal complaint against the man whose followers revere him as a a prophet.

He had already been federally charged for child rape several months ago, as well as for, in some cases, personally conducting, marriages of underage girls to older men; some of whom were three times as old as their young "spiritual wives."

Now, the state of Utah has charged him with two counts of being an accomplice in the rape of a child. The charges stem from a case of one particular underage marriage. Details are meager, but authorities say the victim is between the age of 15 to 18.

    ALSO:

quote:Goddard said he and Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff agreed two years ago to try again based on numerous complaints of sexual exploitation, welfare fraud and tax evasion. Instead of a frontal assault, however, they settled on a coordinated crackdown using law and education.

"He is SUSPECTED of those crimes that I listed. Saw it on America's Most Armed and Dangerous"

Well, what more could you ask for? With proof like that, dispence with the trial and go straight to jail or maybe call in a sniper or burn down his house.

honestly I wouldn't miss them if they were Waco-ed, only one wife is legally recognized by the state, the rest are "single mothers" and are on welfare [:(!]

I remember seeing that Utah polygamist camp on tv years ago and wondering when the FBI would raid it. It appears they are affraid of them as they have been putting it off this long.

They should call in military support like they did last time and use tanks, tear gas, flash grenades, and Delta Force as advisors to the invasion/cremation.
