Don't know why I thought you was from the Scranton area. I used to frequent a gun shop in Hollidaysburg, can't remember the name but it is/was a small shop that sold some really cool stuff like Class III autos. They still in business? What is the name if the place? They was right off of 22 along to tracks.

Wish I had a picture of mine now. '94 Springer Softail. Rode it long, rode it short, then had to sell it because of money issues.

Never much cared who I rode with as long as I was riding. Bar hopping? I don't drink while riding but I do love to look at the ladies lets go. Ride up to Prescott? When do we leave?

Rode it into Mexico with three of my Mexican co-workers (I don't remember what they were riding). Left Phoenix about 6 in the morning rode down to Rocky Point, Mexico messed around for about 6 hours and rode back.

She went from LaSalle/Peru, IL (just off of I80) down here to Phoenix, spent the weekend and then went back via Denver.

Rode her from here to Sturgis almost exclusively back roads and very little interstate without getting lost as was asserted earlier (BTW getting lost on vacation? Isn't that kind of the point?)

Changed the oil every 5000 and she never once left me on the side of the road.

Dennis, counterbalanced engine mounted in rubber, soft tail, rides like a dream! Only handling issues is wind, wind throws that bike around. My hands go to sleep due to the mini apes and their positioning BUT I look cool [:D][:D] Feet on the pegs, arms stretched out on the bars while leaning back in the seat, can ride all day!!

Without hard plastic 'interliners' those leather bags will be all sagged to crap in a short time. I like the HD crash bar pets with the flip out heal rest ~ more comfortable. And chrome front forks would enhance the appearance too. [;)]

The bags have hard plastic liners, that bag looks funky because I have a change of clothes and my leather jacket stuffed in there.

Chrome forks, thought about that. The brushed aluminum lowers have clear coat on them that is slowly turning yellow. I'm going to go to NAPA and get some heavy duty stripper, take that clear off and polish them suckers to where they look like chrome. Tons cheaper then new forks.

If you look at the pegs on the roll bar and notice the position of them you will see I can rest my heel on the floorboards with my toes on the pegs. Comfortable riding position.

Couple of things to try. Take an aspirin just before you head out. Thins the blood and help with the hands. Check for gloves that have a jell padding in the palm that helps.

What I ended up doing is having surgery for carpel Tunnel, That cured mine. Before I did not make it 10 miles and I would completly lose the feeling in my right hand.

Get the surgery done...its worth it. I just did at the end of June on my right hand....100000% better. The Dr. said I could ride again after 4 days....and after a week I was back to normal. Dont wait.....

See you have pictures of three time world champion pro stock
motorcycle drag racer Angelle Seeling/Sampey/Savoie in the red box.

That little 98lb. woman could ride a bike for sure.

For the hand problem there is also one other thing that helps. This helps if the hand that is causing the problem is the throttle hand. What happens is you get muscle pump from griping the throttle. This shuts off blood flow to the hand.

If you get one of these you do not need to grip and can control the throttle by resting your hand on it.

If you look close at the top photo of my bike you will see one of these.

Glad you explained what those two things are! At first glance I thought, "OMG, someone has cut the lying tongues out of Obammy and his wife![:0]

Speak English. How do you get Obama out of what I typed. Maybe you Voted for him and that's all you can think about.

quote:Just zip tie a piece of winshield washer rubber tubing sized to fit jammed 1/3 circle between the twist throttle and housing
leave a small piece at the bottom long enough to pull
    but not buffet
if you cant let the throttle off with just a twist when it's wedged
    get smaller tubing.

Dennis, it has a throttle lock on it, just a little thumb action and it's old fashioned cruise control [:D]

Middle, I could not ride that. Feet position would lock my knees up and I would have to crawl after riding that. Plus arms down and forward, I would be a mess after riding.

Pietro, no it isn't empty, both of them are full.

That photo is one I pulled off the internet. My ride has "elf" pegs on it...which are criuseing pegs that fold open from the heads...makes for a more layed back comfortable ride....but no forward controls. The seat also adjusts...the one in the photo is set low...mine is set 6 inches higher. The bars are comfortable, for me anyway, and provide better control than "ape hangers"...but everyone likes their ride the way they like it.

I used to think my 1989 Ninja 600 I bought brand new was comfortable as well and I argued with everyone about that! I rode it to Ohio to the family farm a few times, 1000 mile round trip and I would lie my * off after that ride saying how comfortable it was! The closet I have come to a semi comfortable crotch rocket was my Katana 750 but even that bike would cramp me up now. Two bikes ago for me I got it in my head I wanted another crotch rocket, sat on several of them and I couldn't stand up straight even after sitting on one for a minute. Sat my * down on the V-Star and rode it out of the dealership. My back, knees and other joints will only allow me to ride a cruiser I can sit back on and stretch my legs. This Heritage is more comfortable to me than driving a car or pickup. I can do more miles in a day on that Heritage than I can in my F-250, that bike is that comfortable, it's like sitting in a Lazy Boy chair. Legs out, arms even with the shoulders and that seat is soft, easy 500 mile a day bike, even more if I want. [:D]

This is also why I love the V-Max, 10Xs more comfortable than a crotch rocket and it's fast too!! If it even looks like a crotch rocket I cannot ride it.
