I just read the above term and need your interpretation of what the term means. Is one pistol better than another because of caliber, grips, barrel length?

Yes.[:p]
i strongly disagree

Of course. Why wouldn't there be better and not as better? There are cars that are better than others. There are foods that are better than others, and there are pistols that are better than others. I'm pretty sure the list is literally endless. Heck, there is a list out there that is better than this list.
you left out wimmins
As long as you avoid a Glock in .40 s&w you should be fine...

What if better is defined as "which is more worthless?"

Better pistols usually have their own credit card...
Better pistols always enjoy their first night at home on top of the armoir in the front hall
Better pistols always replace other obsolete and ancient ones
Better pistols tend to always be replaced by still Better pistols

There is only ONE real pistol. Obvious by the number of companies copying and making it.... 1911
The 1911 / 45cal is the favorite GHOST gun that's hand made in the Philippines. AMAZING the quality of gun that can be made with a file and vice. It's even got the official serial number. [:)]

but 80 percent of them copying it are not worth their weight in scrap metal
thats like saying ford is the best automobile because they copy henry fords assembly line
Depends on who's pitchin' and who's catchin' ,,,,,,,,[:D]
I've been known to play the field...
All calibers (except 40SW) do exactly the same thing.
All grips are exactly the same length.
No two barrels are different in any way, up to and including length.
All purposes for every pistol is exactly the same.
All situations where a pistol may be employed are identical.
So the question "what is a better pistol" is completely meaningless.

Or the replies, either. [:0][}:)]
It seems that P3 nailed the correct answer to your original question on the very first post to this thread. It's not really kosher to change the question and then claim no one answered it.

No one has answered the question. Why is one pistol better than another? Simple question guys. Or maybe not.
I thought my second answer pretty well covered it.
But please tell me the correct response so I know better next time.
