so will the canadians honor her as a hero or war criminal ? apparently the recent fire fights in afghanistan have been with foreign taliban fighters from iran, syria, jordan, irag and other countries. kinda sounds like Iraq. iraq....canada didnt send troops to iraq because it was "immoral". so i guess fighting islamic terrorist foriegners in afghanistan is okay but not iraq.

Albert, the invasion of Iraq was and is immoral, according to leading Christian leaders.

Some countries, unfortunately not the US under the reign of King George II, still have a modicum of decency. Soon, you will have to look up to France for inspiration. [:(]

Hey Albert get your facts before ya speak!

Canadian troops in Iraq, possibly in combat
    Contributed by: sthompson

    CBC
    from the article:
"OTTAWA - Ottawa now admits that some Canadian soldiers are in Iraq, even though Canada refused to join the U.S.-led war against Saddam Hussein

Thirty-one Canadians are with U.S. and British troops in the Gulf as part of a military exchange, and a British army officer told CBC News that some of the Canadians are in combat.

I know its just a token amount, but they are there SUPRISE!!

since when do you care what Christian leaders say Hairy ? I assume then that if the "chrisitan leaders" supported the war then you would as well ? Many "christian leaders" support the Iraq war completely.

Hmm - I don't see no respect paid for the canadian gal' who lost her life in combat..

There seems to be a higher interest in "Oh we're the bravest" and putting everyone else down..

I wonder why you expect the rest of the world to respect YOUR losses, but doesn't seem to pay respect for others losses. You're not the only nation in this world, eventhough you seem to want to be that..

Before you speak up too much, yes, Denmark have lost some lives in Afghanistan and Iraq as well - side by side with US and England.

    And now Canada.. [:(]

Calgary. The service is open to the public.
She will be laid to rest at a military cemetery.

    AlbertLum,

I seriously doubt Iran is sending fighters to help out the Taliban - after all, when the Taliban was in power, only Iran and Russia helped the Northern Alliance. The United States sat it out until far too late.

As an American, I feel for anyone who, as a soldier, stands and fights alongside our own soldiers and gives his or her life in the line of duty. No matter what your view of the war is and politics aside, she deserves respect and dignity for the sacrifice she made. How many French soldiers will we be able to say that about? My condolences to her family and friends for their loss.

The newly elected Canadian government is 100% behind the U.S. Lead
effort in Afghanistan, as is the Canadian military. The limited capability
of our Military is of concern to all responsible Canadians.
It is a top priority of this conservative government to improve our
standing and capability to respond to military operations in the
    war on terror.
Unfortunately Canadians are divided on the issue, as is the U.S.
