Speaking of strange sights on the road...

I was in a 65 zone today. It's 'warm' as in about 45 degrees here, and I see a crotch rocket coming up on me with a guy in a full thermal suit. He passes, I was doing about 70, he was doing about 75. Just as he's past me we crest a hill and there's a cop on his radar in the median.

Now, driving a mustang I normally slow down a little as I pass the cops as it LOOKS like a fast car even if it isn't really any faster than any other V6 out there. But the guy on the bike sees the cop and he puts the hammer down, figuratively speaking and quickly accelerates to I'd guess about 150. He absolutely flew away, pretty empty road. The cop peels out. Last I saw the cop was well behind the motorcyle and falling behind.

Screwy people in this world, I was hoping the biker would get caught but the cop's Ford was no match for the biker's ride. [:(]

radio is the only hope a cop car has catching a motorcycle unless the bike rider crashes

Couple years ago, I was riding with my son when he got a crotch rocket on radar doing 130+ about 20 miles south of Floagstaff on I-17.
We took chase, but it was evident there was no catching the bike, so my son called in for some help from above. The driver was quite surprised when we pulled into the filling station where he stopped for gas and his denial that it was him speeding stopped when my son pointed up at the DPS helicopter circling above.
Kinda tough to outrun radio and a helicopter.
