Glock 26

edited February 2011 in General Discussion
I've asked this on the ask the experts forum, but only got one reply. I recently purchased a box of Ranger +P+ ammo at my gun shop. I didn't notice the +P+ and was wondering if I could use that in my Glock without fear of the thing blowing up in my face when I shoot it (if the need ever would arise). I am using those rounds strictly for self defense. should I use them in a different gun, or are they safe in my Glock?thanks,Alex

Just noticed this gun yesterday for what I believe is the first time at the gun store. I don't normally look long at Glocks, but I am in the market for a smaller carry gun, and this one has very good possibilities. The small size of it is amazing, and it is 9mm, which is a step up from my Bersa .380. I was considering a Beretta 9000s, but have not heard anything good about it yet, and also an HK, but those were too big. This Glock is the perfect size. I would also like it because of the known ability of these guns to withstand anything. So some questions: Can you get night sights for this gun? How is it in terms of reliability, meaning does it tend to jam or malfunction a lot? My main concern is finding a gun that does not jam a lot, preferably not at all, because I find it hard to carry anything else except my 92FS, because it never has any problems. The caliber is good because 9mm is still somewhat cheap and I have a lot of it. I believe magazines are easy to find for this gun right? And how about taking it apart, is it easy to strip and put back together? And last one, how does the double action compare to other guns. This one is double action only, and I would prefer one that can do double/single, but I believe Glocks are all double, right? How does the trigger pull compare to say a Beretta 92FS? Thanks for any help you can provide.

    I bought a Glock 26 sometime
ago.I wanted to see what the
    hype was.Well I hung a 12 inch
saw blade (The kind they use
to bury dog fences)56 yds away
and I'm hitting the darn thing
    quite regularly. Amazing!
I tried my grand raptor and hit
it twice out out of 4 clips.[V]
I"m gonna have to get another glock
to see if they are all as accurate.

Step up to a Glock 34. If you can hit that well with a 26 the 34 will blow your mind!

I've had a G26 for 15 years. Still one of my favorite guns.

It's my CCW and carry semi-auto. I'm very satisfied. Happy enough at 30 feet not to use sights.

    I traded my S&W M&P .45 for a Glock 21SF.

Very happy with the Glock, the Smith was not accurate, and a PITA to field strip.

As much as I love Smith wheelguns, I still don't think they've made a decent semi-auto (Models 41 and 52 excepted)

some people like chocolate, some like vanilla.

glad yours is a keeper L-tee.

I personally never had any luck with a Smith semi (or a Ruger centerfire semi, for that matter)

Understood. Kinda like the Glock vs 1911 rift.

Mine shoots patterns, NOT groups. Put a 357Sig barrel in it[:(]
Hope the one you get is better.
A friend has one and only gets a groip with 180gr ammo.

It's interesting; 5 years ago I bought a Glock 35 planning on ultimately trading it for something better; well of course I had to try it out. I ended up keeping it for the simple reason that I simply can't miss with it! It's the most accurate handgun I own! I can hit a 9 inch diameter target at 75 yards!

    Love the 26.

Have had to buy and sell a 26 twice for finacial reasons over the past 5 years.

Finally got me a new used one not to long ago. Came with everything it did new. Plus two extra 10 round mags for $380.

Shoots great with no issues, going on 500+ rounds. Nice groups at 5 to 10 yards.

Bought a bunch of those *HIGH CAP* CLIPS for it the other weekend. two of the 17 rounders have the +2's on them. glock 31 rounder. two 15's. And one 17 rounf with pinky grip. $100 for all those.

I think I did alright on this one. Makes up for the loses on my other two.

Hoping to not have to sell this one, but in time of needing cash, the 26 sells quickly every time.

Bought a pachmyer slip on grip for $8.

    Can't go wrong

    Nope, not gay.I've always called
magazines ,clips.I think you got the
    drift tho, huh?
I've been "corrected" a million times about
    magazines and clips .Some shotguns
have a tubular magazine. A ruger carbine
    has a rotary magazine.
I stuff clips into my semi pistols.
