I really like this small pistol.
I've had 2 or 3 Shields ,but I still favor the Taurus.
I'm sitting here looking at the double strike factor
and trying to think of a way to utilize that
feature for the first shot and I can't see it being done.
Any thoughts
Thank you
Ron

The only way it gets utilized is a bad primer/light primer strike so hopefully you never experience that in a defense situation. I've only experienced 1 primer in a centerfire handgun ever not go off. Was a .380 Hornady Critical Defense round. Tried it in a different .380 and still nothing. Was a fresh box of ammunition right from Cabelas too. I have read where people who over lubed their gun by spraying into the firing pin channel especially with WD40(which is crappy to use) killed the primer.

In a G&A test of small 9s the slim did better than all the higher priced 9s. They fired it hundreds of rounds without a FTF or eject.

I must have not made myself clear . I was wondering
and don't think it's possible to load a round in the chamber
without cocking the gun. Similar to a revolver.I think I'm going
to have to look for a hammer fired singles stack pistol.
I want that double action pull on the first round then single action.

Yeah I think racking the slide is going to reset the action

Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

Might look at the CZ75 RAMI the decock version. That or a SIG P224 with the hammer will be what you're talking about..but they are a little bigger than the Taurus..but a lot higher quality gun. Either one is DA for the first shot, SA for the rest. You just rack the slide and then decock to carry. As safe or safer to carry as a revolver...the Taurus is too so long as it's in a holster...it not going to go off without the trigger being fully depressed and it has a manual safety (I hate those on carry guns but other people like them)
