Need Help with Internet

I have installed a new phone line just for the internet. I want to go wireless but dont really know what to get. Do I just need a linksys router, will it work with 56k. I would like to get broadband but it isnt offered where I am.


So will a router work with 56k? Which do I need 802.11 a,b,g ?

radio shack had a wireless deal i tried on my computer didn like it because it kept kickin me off line

Under linksys FAQ they say you can't use a wireless router with 56k. Are you trying to go wireless because you have a laptop? Do you have a desktop as well? If you have a desktop you can hook up to the internet using your desktop as a server and access the internet through a wireless access point.

I have a laptop and no desktop. Just hate dragging the phone cord around the house.
