My brother told my husband that he saw where they are going to do Firefly again. I don't know any details...but I LOVED that show. I hope it is true!!!

I didn't catch on to the series until it was already off TV. I saw the serenity movie and then got the full series on DVD. I can't believe it didn't last other than probably alot of people like me didn't see it until it was too late.

I want the DVD set soooo bad!!! I also watched a few shows after it was too late....and LOVED it. I am so happy to know someone FINALLY was smart enough to know how many people love that show.

This is not a remake or sequel, it is just airing of the original series.
They didn't get to show the two hour pilot where characters were established, etc. until AFTER it debuted with another episode.
They then rushed them into doing an episode(the one where they rob the train) on a very short time frame.
That show is the best and has a following all over the world.
I didn't catch onto it until it was off either.
All the actors said it was the best working atmosphere they ever had and I must say it showed in the quality of the show.
Firefly and Jericho really light me up but they never last long....shows that aggrandize individualism and standing up to corrupt authority never make it in the "free" world.
Damn shame....

It's the same on another gun board I'm on. With all the people who are getting excited about the reruns coming back, you'd think some TV exec would be smart enough to give Joss some money, discretion and a time slot.
Back in the day, a topic amongst the fans was what kind of new series they'd be willing to accept. Same actors, subs, different ship, etc. I was ostracized for saying I'd take anything new, as long as the same creative team was involved. I just like that 'verse. How about a spin-off with Monty's ship?

I can't help but think of Full Metal Jacket every time I see a wood-stocked M14/1A.
Not mentioned in the movie, but Adam Baldwin sez the mocked-up mini-gunesque long arm he carried at the end of Serenity was named Lux, after a hardcore fan and Firefly forum member with the username Lux Lucre. Lux was very ill from (goes to look it up) diabetes when Baldwin and Alan Tudyk (Wash) went and met up with him in a bar, just because that's the kind of people the Firefly cast was. They spent some time drinking, he got a couple photos with them and posted the pics and a report on the forum. He died before the movie came out, and Baldwin wanted to memorialize him.

I believe that was you. That reminds me, if anybody wants to know how to access the Easter Eggs on the series & movie DVDs just ask - but I guess you could google it. Way to go, spreading the signal. That set I gave away was one of two that I bought just for loaners.
As for the rest of the cast, Gina Torres (Zoe) got a couple TV spots but she's mostly happy at home with Laurence Fishburne. Most of the cast is getting small steady bits of work except for Ron Glass (Book), who's pretty much retired, and Sean Maher (Simon) who had a few bit parts on TV but can't catch a break otherwise. And of course Summer Glau (River) was in The Sarah Chronicles as a re-tasked cyborg, besides a few other parts.
