on GB? Do y'all ask questions the seller hasn't disclosed. I just emailed a man last night about a nice Colt. Price is over $1200. He replied the gun needed cylinder work !!! He was selling for a friend. Anyone bought a gun and had a BIG SURPRISE when it arrived?

YOU BET! If there is ANYTHING I see/read that is not CRYSTAL clear in the pics, description, terms.. I try to get as close to a "hands-on" inspection as is reasonable. If the seller doesn't OFFER a grace period for inspection/approval you might want to ask for one if you have any doubts!

Big surprises or disappointments? No, thank GOD!

I will not bid on an item if the seller does not respond to my questions in a timely manner.

Yes, I bid on an HRR 622 and they told me it was in great condition. I get it and looked good. Took it to the range and the gun does not fire evry round, only every couple of rounds as it need a new firing pin. Now I have a wall decoration.

Usually because the seller doesn't list all pertinate information, like serial number, cracks, and markings.
You have to look at the pictures real close too.

I ask questions, even request additional pictures, and expect an answer in a reasonable amount of time. Over a certain dollar amount, and depending on the feedback, I will CALL the seller.

I have had only one disappointment. It all worked out in the end, but it was a hassle.

I only buy new guns online, but I still ask questions sometimes. Like Chris said earlier, if they wont answer my questions than I find someone else to buy from.

I guess I do a good job with my pictures and descriptions. I rarely get questions from prospective buyers.

Me too. I usually try to under rate the gun. If it is a 95% I will advertise 90-95. Then when the buyer gets the gun they are happy.

YES!! I ask the questions I need to ask, and if I'm selling, I make myself AVAILABLE to answer emails or phonecalls.[8D][:)][8D]

Gotta ask questions. A few years ago it seemed like you could trust most everyone on GB. Not anymore. Even with asking questions, I haven't had a really satisfactory deal on GB in a long time. It seems that the trend is to hid the flaws, don't mention the replaced parts, etc instead of being honest. My advice is to not even consider an auction in which the seller can't be bothered to write up a good description.

As a buyer I ask and expect answers to those questions in a reasonable amount of time or I don't bid. If the seller doesn't have time for me I don't have time for them. As a seller I try to give all the pertinent info. If I receive a question I answer it promtly like I would like to have my questions answered. Even if some of them can be a little strange!
