MrOrange, how many episodes of firefly was there? I saw a box set that said there was only 14, 3 of which were never shown. I want to get these movies but I want to make sure I get them all. Do you know a good place to get them from? Thanks.

That is the full TV series. Great show, in fact one of the best sci-fi shows ever on television, but not enough instant gratification for the normal viewer.

I figured it was but 14 episodes seemed to few and to sad for such a great show. I was hoping for more. Thanks.

    My, what a co-ink-e-dink.

I saw the top ten sci-fi movie list thread the other day and just stopped by to show off a prop from the movie, when I sees this.

    Firefly eps & air dates:

    Serenity I/II..........12/20/02
    The Train Job.........9/20/02
    Bushwhacked.........9/27/02
    Shindig.................11/1/02
    Safe....................11/8/02
    Our Mrs. Reynolds..10/4/02
    Jaynestown...........10/18/02
    Out of Gas............10/25/02
    Ariel.....................11/15/02
    War Stories...........12/6/02
    Trash...................Never aired
    The Message.........Never aired
    Heart of Gold.........Never aired
    Objects in Space....12/13/02

You may be forgiven for believing that Fox deliberately sabotaged the series, let alone never gave it a fair run. 'Sides the mixed-up sequence, they changed the days of the week and the times it was shown as well. I remember setting my VCR to record it and coming home to find some other show on the tape.

Jumping in on such a large, complicated cast in such a multi-layered new 'verse wasn't going to grab a lot of people away from their familiar sit-coms and cop shows.

If you thought it was interesting at all, you should definitely get the DVD set. There's plenty of commentary and other extras that make you appreciate all the more what a special show that was. (I can't believe it's been almost 5 years.)

As to where to purchase, I usually go to deepdiscount.com, formerly deepdiscountdvd.com, to get DVDs on the cheap. They have the series at $30.09 shipped. I seem to remember it used to be cheaper than that on amazon, but perhaps the continuing demand is keeping the price up with much more recent shows.

BTW, here's a link to the script of another episode, believed to be genuine, that never got filmed.

Firefly lasted have a season, being canceled in December. The box set you saw is it, plus the movie 'Serenity' which followed. Amazon is as good a place to buy as any, but you usually will not find it very discounted. It was a great series and you have a treat in store.[^]

[V]. I was hoping that I had not seen all the episodes but I have. I am going to get the set now that I know they are all there. I was just hoping I had missed some. I have not seen them in quite awhile so am looking forward to them. We Serenity and have watched that movie a ton of times. My wife and I really like it. I hope they make another movie. Thanks guys.
