Neighbors ???

Ok ,
Short version of a long story :
Guy across the street , living in a rental house , last on rent as much as on time ( I know the owners) , type of guy that always has a "story" , and thinks we ( his neighbors ) should hear it ? Punch line nine out ten times is , " Mind if I grab a brew (cold beer) " ? , this happens two or three times a week , Or , can I borrow a cup of sugar ? or something silly with the same punch line (beer) ??? He never seems to have any money , another kid on the way ! and is always pricing guns ? OK , I run a gun shop , so , thats an easy way to start a conversation that almost always ends up with the (beer) thing ??? Has bought One (1) gun from us in a year ? and then told he that he 'pawned' it ???
Go figure !
So , last nite , he comes over , Hey man , see what I bought @ the pawn shop ??? (same place he pawned his gun). A usd Glock 22 , nice gun , @ the same price I would have (and have told him so) sold one to him for ???

    Just making a statement , a small business owner trying to make an honest living , pay my bills and feed my family ?????
    Yes , very true , Nothing "says" I have to befriend him , or vise versa ? or that he has to buy anything from me ?
    But ,
    Guess I was was raised differently ?
    I have always operated with the theory that when ever at all possible ,
    You supported the local (small) business ,
    and ,
    If Family was is a 'business' , thats where you tried to do that business .
    If brother owns a Chevy dealership , You Dont go to the next town over and buy a chevy then stick it in his face !
    Same is for friends , neighbors , family of friends , ect.ect.
    I just thought that maybe this type of activity was what helped make us the species that we are ???
    Maybe Not ?

    Its just Not the way I do Business , wouldnt even think about it !!!

    Yep, I agree.

    Personally, I don't have patience for people that annoy me. So, to be honest, I wouldn't have anything to do with him, if that's possible.

    I would just be thankful he is shopping somewhere else....he seems like the kind of deadbeat I used to DREAD coming by when I was in retail. "Hey, lemme see this one.....and this one.....and this one.....do you have a fresh pot of coffee made.....can I put this on layaway without putting anything down....I know I still owe you for the last thing I put in layaway.....can I change them out even though I have had the other thing in layaway forever and ever and now they are sold cheaper and out of season....let me wait until you have paying customers in the store and then get you to show me random things that I'll never be able to buy.....did I tell you about my lawsuit I'm hoping to win lots of money with....how about you give me a deal on something and I'll pay you whenever that comes to pass....I'll trade you this Cetme I built myself for that milled legend ak47 if you will throw in every extra known to man and more ammo than my skinny girlish arms could carry."

    Neighbors are neighbors, family is family and friends are friends. I have neighbors that I am friendly with, but wouldn't call them friends exactly.

    This guy came over last nite , full of questions about his Glock ,
    I was nice , even that the thought of saying " go to the pawn shop and ask" , But ,
    I was nice and DIDNT !
    tried to help as much as possible ,
    who knows ?
    I guess I will never figure out some people ??????????????????????
    But , Its OK !
