So the lovely Mrs. Blue has been going on about how I promised to make a matching oak side table when I made her computer desk (I try to make about one or two projects a year for her). I finally get my butt in gear - even though I could have gone cougar hunting. and get out in the shop. I get all of the boards cut - and all of the tenons cut (mission style with 4444 pieces of wood - ok slight exageration). Lot of the piece work done - I only have a small joiner, and sometimes use it as a small planer (I know call me stupid)so I'm getting the saw cut marks off with the joiner and doing the slats when my finger slips past the guard - Well I hate to say this but I think I screamed like a little girl - and then cussed a bit when I saw the damage. Finger nail completely gone - part of the bone gone and the Doc says I gotta go see a hand specialist monday. [:(][:(]

Be careful with the set up, I was trim ripping some thin strips (.18 thick x 1.5 wide) to final width (between the fence and the blade) after having made my edge rabbit. To complete the cut I had to go around and pull the piece out the back side of the blade. NO hold down was got me, as I using my hand as the hold down.
You should fare better with the setup your going to be using, along with the thicker stock you will be using.
Need any Maple venier? 12x39x.1, natural, green dyed and a few black dyed pieces (place I got them from used to make skateboards, this is the stock they used to make them from). I think I've got 500+lb of the stuff out in the garage.
