Driving Around Paris at 140 mph

On an August morning in 1978, French filmmaker Claude Lelouch mounted a gyro-stabilized camera to the bumper of a Ferrari 275 GTB and had a friend, a professional Formula 1 racer, drive at breakneck speed through the heart of pre-dawn Paris. The course was from Porte Dauphine, through the Louvre, to the Basilica of Sacre Coeur. No streets were closed, for Lelouch was unable to obtain a permit. The driver completed the course in about nine minutes, reaching nearly 140 MPH in some stretches. The footage reveals him running red lights, nearly hitting real pedestrians, and driving the wrong way up real one-way streets. Sorry but I have to call BS on that video. There is no way the car was traveling anywhere near 140 MPH. I've driven cars/ motorcycles faster then 140 MPH and the scenery in the video dosen't support 140 MPH. Maybe 140 KPH?

Im with you, the soundtrack does not match the scenery the trees cars and sidewalks go by really fast even at 60MPH and the way a ferrari accelerated is very noticable. the camera would be going up and down and a gyro wouldn't keep up with the bumpy roads in paris downtown streets

LOVE the sound of that V12 at 8000rpm. Makes a V8 sound like a Model T. Saw and heard them at the Daytona Continental in 1970Sound of The heel and toeing on the downshifts in the turns is pure music and genius at work.

Shoot, when my cousin Mergatroid was a PFC, he did that same route in Paris with a deuce-and-a-half, in 1/2 the time. That's why Frenchmen don't like Americans.

Ok the guy on the bike is definately nuts, I have been so startled by MC flying by me on the highway I have nearly wrecked myself so he is really a menace. makes all the dumb things I ever did on my bikes seem totally law abiding and tame...LOL

My title is not accurate.
He didn't go 140 the entire time, in fact, he nearly hit 140 in some stretches.

This clip is shown every year at the windsor motorcycle club banquet. I was under the impession it was a motorcycle. The sound is clearly dubbed, but a great clip.
