If you want to improve your shooting get the Volquartson Trigger kit that includes the hammer sear, trigger and springs. It is EASY to install and really improves the trigger by leaps and bounds.

I bet it's big money. My ruger p89 is a knock about gun, the kind you don't mind if you get a few scratches on it but I will look into it. thanks
I have a p89 and the trigger pull on it is terrible. I will have to look into on also.
The easy to install part surprises me, that dang MKII of mine gives me nightmares when I think about breaking it down for cleaning.
After you understand that pulling the trigger as you put it back together makes the hammer move into place and the hammer strut get aligned by holding the muzzle vertical it is easy. Tear it down 10 times and you will soon get the hang of it. When first doing it, you will cuss, a LOT and outloud!
If you are still nervous about it just pull the grips and hose it out with carb cleaner. The trigger parts do get dirty but the carb cleaner will blast it all out. Cleaning a barrel on a 22 is a waste of time. I clean my target pistols after a thousand rounds or so but leave the 22 barrels alone.

I've done it a couple, three dozen times, just still hate doing it....spoiled with quick easy take down guns like Glock [:I]
