Already saw The Ring [V]. It was good. Anyone else? Maybe list a couple in case I've seen some of them.

One of my favorites that i watch every Halloween is the old low budget original "Night of the Living Dead"
Dont bother with the remake because as usual it's never as good as the original.

I didn't like The Ring all that much, especially the ending. I like Final Destination. For a really good scare, watch one of the debates between the Dem. candidates.

    Here's a few I watched recently

The Mothman Prophecies-Great movie, not a horror movie, more of a
thriller. But gave me goosebumps though the
    whole thing. Stars Richard Gere.

Dreamcather-You can't go wrong with a Steven King flic. Thought this
    one was awsome.

Fear.com-This one is wierd and scary.

If your looking for a classic here's some of the scariest one's I've seen.

    Rosemary's Baby
    The Shining
    Rose Red
    Children of the Corn

Hope this helps. Be sure and let us know what you pick and how you liked it.

Depends on what type of scare, and what generation.

Among the classics are The Haunting, The Innocents, Psycho, and Repulsion (Roman Polanski directed Catherine Deneuve in a Psycho-like story of a girl home alone and slowly going crazy).

Then you have the Tom Tryon films like The Other and the mini-series made of his novel Harvest Home, both of which are good -- The Other is scarier, maybe. Tryon is the actor who played cowboy Tom Slaughter on Disney before he became one of our leading pre-Stephen-King scary book writers for a while.

Another good haunted house movie is Hell House with Pamela Franklin, who played one of the kids in The Innocents earlier. Pamela is also in another excellent scary movie, The Nanny with Bette Davis as a nanny who may have drowned a child in a bathtub accidently or on purpose -- but oddly hasn't been fired.

Another classic is a very well done, quirky psychological thriller called The Tenant, again by Roman Polanski, who plays a man who leases an apartment previously rented by a young woman that lost her sanity while living there and commited suicide by jumping out the window...

Probably a list of the scarier modern movies would include The Other, The Others (with Nicole Kidman) and The Sixth Sense. And yes, I like Alien also. I'm missing a lot, but these are off the top of my head and may include one or two you haven't sampled before, but are definitely worth finding.

I thought I was the only one who likes "Prince of Darkness". That's a friggin good one. It's got Alice Cooper in it to!

Dude....prepare NOT to be impressed with "Jeepers Creepers 2". It was a yawner for me!

Another REALLY BAD one my wife and I just recently watched was "Cabin Fever"! TERRIBLE! A big "F"! Two thumbs down![:D]

Thanks to everyone for all the suggestions! I'm going to the movie database on Yahoo and typing in these titles to see what some of the movies are about and then I will decide. So far I'm leaning towards "The Other" or "The Legend of) Hell House". Thanks again! - Toe

STIGMATA. I've seen this movie about five times and it never fails to make the hair on my neck stand up. If you are religious, it will scare the Hell out of you.

Can't go wrong with the classics "The Exorcist","Rosemary's Baby", " the Evil Dead",...can't honestly think of any more current movies that even compare.
Anyone even the slightest bIt interested in the original lore of 'Friday the 13th'(not the movie)?

Jeepers Creepers is really edge of your seat thriller, (first one, haven't seen "2" yet) I don't scare at all but my girlfriend wouldn't watch this with me so I was watching it by myself and it was getting to me, had to take it in the bedroom and finish watching it while she tried to sleep. You won't be disappointed.
