New dealer question

I recently obtained my 01 ffl. I don't have any stock. I have personal firearms I am going to list online. If I were to add them to my book I would just put my name down in the "obtained from" acquisition section correct?

I can't imagine there is any other answer. You(personal) is who you(professional) acquired the guns from. It's just like you(pro) acquiring the guns from anyone else.

What is the cost to get a FFL now? I got a FFL back in 93 and kept it for three years and the cost was $30 then. I wish I had kept it.

"If" you were to add them to your book? You'd better!

You can sell guns in your personal collection subject only to the restrictions on firearms sales by unlicensed persons ONLY IF YOU ENTERED THEM IN YOUR BOUND BOOK AT LEAST 1 YEAR PRIOR TO THE SALE. See ATF P5300.4, page 182.

just to note; you don't HAVE to record them in your bound book unless they are to become your 'stock'. If you had them before you got your ffl they are your personal property and you can dispose of them any way you want. You could sell them on gunbroker as a private person, just be sure to ship to a ffl (that will accept from a private party).

just make sure your personal stock is either separated from your business stock or is clearly marked as personal, not for sale.

    Hey pit,

Give us some idea what your experience was like getting an FFL? Expense? time it took? hoops you jumped through? Are you going to have a storefront?

I was told by the Inspector that We could sell our personal firearms in any legal way and then take them to the FFL for shipping. Just like a lot of private seller do on here. They sell it on Gunbroker.com and take it down the road to the friendly FFL and he ships it to the friendly FFL on the other end.[:)]

Where did Self get it from?
If you do not put where Self got it, then you have an DEAD-END when your book is checked.

I always kept My Personal firearms in a privite book with pictures.
also a picture with Hang-tag in the safe, so my wife would have it
    when I am gone on.
The Hang-tag shows what that I INVESTED IN THAT GUN, then She knows what I had in it.That is also good for Insurence records.
