"Schwartz said that he has been swamped with inauguration duties and packing up four decades' worth of papers and accumulated items, and has not yet been able to inform District of Columbia officials, including the mayor and the chair of the D.C. Council."

Luckily he had time to inform The Washington Post. [;)]

"The head of the D.C. National Guard, Maj. Gen. Errol R. Schwartz, said Friday that he has been ordered removed from his command. . ."

"Schwartz said he would oversee duties in a command center and then depart at 12:01 p.m., retiring from the Army."

Gee, I know just how he feels. Of course, they did not remove me from my command - they just retired me. Back in the day, we called it "up or out". In my case - and evidently his also - there was no place to go "up" so it is "out".

If I recall correctly from my time stationed in DC, the DC Guard Commander is appointed by and serves at the favor of the POTUS. With each new POTUS, he or she must be reappointed or retire. It appears that the incoming administration is looking to have new faces in the folds and elected to allow the officer to retire.

I am not sure if the states work the same way for new governors or not. I doubt that this is anything nefarious, just that the admin wants new people in charge of things. May even see a new Joint Chiefs of Staff at some point.

Let's see -- guy is in charge of 5000 troops which will be on duty during inaguration which will be attended by thousands of people, including many anarchists who plan on disrupting the proceedings, and at noon that day he is to turn over command and retire, all at the same time.

Seems there would be a better way to handle the situation

    Hmmmmmm
Sounds like ECOMCON will be receiving mobilization orders from Mount Thunder.
Jiggs will be in contact with General James Mattoon Scott awaiting developments.

It sounds like skullduggery is afoot.[:p]

I really don't care, he is just a general, they have 886 generals and Admirals now.

I am sure they can find another stuffed shirt to handle the task.

Maybe it's political ??? Seems the Libtard media has somehow,, discovered the reason.

Schwartz nor the media has been informed as to why he will be removed, but given that the streets of D.C. will likely be filled with protestors expressing their outrage at the inauguration of a Russian shill and serial sexual predator into the Oval Office, the decision to replace him with a Trump-friendly commander has horrifying implications, as prominent media figures noted immediately:

Yep, once he's President, all out war will be waged with Protesters,, and thousands will be arrested and who knows how many will be killed. Trump needs a real general and not a major general. Actually doing him a favor. Major generals retirement pay around $8,000 month.
