And I would want to pay $100 for this why? [:0]

Are you just trying to promote your auction? [:(!]

Even if I did own this why would I want it? [?]

I put a high price on the item because i do NOT want to sell it. I would if someone wanted to pay a huge price. I can think of no better way to find someone. Then again, I didn't want to pay large listing fees or I would have put $1000.00 on the item.

I thought there might be collectors on this board. The question of why a person who owns the serial numbered firearm would want the complete paperwork is kind of evident and he gets gets it for postage.

Gee, free,, and this is a problem. Although I wouldn't mind getting $100.00.. Last time I checked this was about a months rent. Not in the US of course.

I did something similar when a listed gun on GB was maybe going to a private party. I doubled the "starting price". Imagine if I had sold the gun, gotten home, and found someone had bid![:o)]

Anyway, the chances of tracking down the current owner of your gun are nil. He might think is could have been illegally "removed" from your vehicle, ended up for sale "over the neighbor's fence", and then Johnny Law would come a'poundin' on t'door!

Think you are right. Good post, thought of that myself. The only way would be if the gun was still in possession of the purchaser. Funny, but when I found the target I got both ideas at about the same time.

A good way to attempt a track. Reminds me of when local police departments set up "stings" by sending people a "You won a free TV" claim stub. Yep,, when they showed up,,, a trip to back room to claim the "prize". Saw this on TV,, amazing how many people fell for this. I think I have a chance better than nil,, maybe a mil,,, 0.001

    i lived in Philadelphia.
Even after some third-generation welfare recipients had watch these stings REPEATEDLY on T.V., when the letter came, claiming there was a payment of $35+/- due to them for a tax refund (right, like they ever paid taxes), you had 25% showing up.

The police are good at inner-city stings. A fake front, conducting business for months with undercover cops...

I have a really good story about being pulled over in Philly, during an indescretion involving the offense of "I didn't inhale" Clinton. This was during my youth, and I was playing in a rock band. Anyway, we pulled over after a guy in another car indicated he wanted to talk. We all got out and talked, and "shared". He wanted to buy, I was out of it, and we talked about our band, and how they should come on out and hear us some time. Little did I know that a tow truck had stopped across the divider and a ratty urban junker had pulled over on the corner at the same time. It was a sting, but we don't sell; we shared, but that was it. We parted friends and I bet they had a good chuckle afterwards, even though they lost time on a more productive sting.

I'll be darned. Found the guy. Still had the gun. Remember his name. Sometimes things just work out.

You found the guy because of the listing or your post here or just because you remembered his name without these things?

Nope: not here. He saw an ad I had posted on a website that specialized in buying and settling SIG firearms.
