$100,000 homes for Aspen Ski Workers

Take a look at fancy living just East over the Pass.

Housing shortage. The VERRRY RICH bought all the land for their 3-week get-a-way places and mansions. No place for the proletariat servants.

So they "spend wisely" on these campground digs. They look like PARK MODELS, or expanded size HUD models. Of course, a regular person can buy these for about 40,000 less.

Had to "Throw out" some of the year round tenants in the camp ground to make way for the "corporate workers homes".

Poor people were paying $750 per month for a camp site with hookups.

Now were will they go, now will they live? Card board box spaces under bridges must cost $150 per month w/o hookups.

The only way out ??? Move into a dumpster with your girlfriend.

The same situation was going on in Crested Butte, CO. Back around 1995, and I'm sure somewhat the same as Aspen now.

Would've loved to have lived there.

Took a two week Ski holiday, after my divorce, had quite a few friends who used to work for me when I managed the Outdoor Adventure store.

A few of them moved out there, and pooled their resources, had a big house on the Mountain. Worked for the Ski resort. Absolutely Beautiful!!

Flew back East from Gunnison sitting nex to Marianne from Gilligan's island. She was a sweetheart.

Always had a crush on Her. [:D]

Same thing going on in Sun Valley, ID.

Workers can only afford to live in Bellvue ID, and drive back and forth.

25 years ago, I got a "flip" house in Telluride for $35,000. After installing plumbing, utilities & rehabbing the interior, it sold for $875,000. The buyer was acting as agent for a bigwig with Southwest Airlines. He sold it for over a million in '96.
Mountain Village has a "flip" house going cheap right now; $1.4 million for less than 1,000 square feet.
    Such a Deal!

I can't remember the name of the Co. town, but it is so expensive to live their that the city subsidizes the police officers that buy homes there just to have some living in the community.

Who would have guessed $100K trailer park homes in Aspen were inexpensive !!!

The guy that lived in the dumpster for a year with his girlfriend has a "start up" company named Kasita that intends to have small homes on the market very soon. Multi-story "slots".

Not cheap, $140,000 (+/-) but a WHOLE LOT BETTER than a dumpster and also bigger. Guy might attract another "live in".

    Dumpster story:

    Kasita Company.

For the money a YURT is the way to go. This woman has lived in hers for 30+ years.

Lots of videos about YURTS, how to build, kits, etc. new more space, buy a second unit and put walkway between.

Should have put YURTS in Colorado.

Those Rich Capitalist Chinese need somewhere to hide their wealth from those greedy politicians in Beijing and have those poor Americans to get out of the way of progress.[:o)] The NWO takes care of their own now.
