History Repeats Itself Again - In Reverse

I remember when these same students protested the Shah in favor of the Ayatollah in the '70's. I guess 40 odd years of no dancing, no drinking, and no screwing gets old PDQ.

If they do bring down the government and become Westernized again, this will be a major coup for Trump and change the whole Middle East.

Not the same students. I was there when their parents chanted death to the Shah. Now I take pleasure in seeing their parents suffer to see their children pay the price for their stupidity.

Think it was 2009 a lot of unrest had big ears taken advantage of it the history of that part of the world would be different, but no he had to kiss up to the bad guys in power they are his buddies

If Trump and his people can find a way to take advantage of the discontent he will. Best of my knowledge the common guy in Iran has no weapons, if this is true and there is a way Trump will make sure they are armed at least give them a chance.

Going to be interesting to see how this develops

    The whole country stinks Obama

Shah Reza Pahlavi wasn't a dictator or particularly inclined toward the Musloon insanity; he was as pro-western as you could get in that country, at that time.
The (gonna sound awfully familiar) Madrassa-indoctrinated masses of stupid children figgered that it was a good time to go all-in on the Muzzy Madness, and form their own Antifa Goobermint.
As Ofrey's phony physician often asks, " How's that workin' for ya?".

This is a brief photo foray into life under the Shah. If you know what you're looking at, you'll see a vast better life under the Shah.

If you don't, ask yourself why you don't?

Thanks for the video. I was only 12 when we had to leave and that brought back a lot of memories. The shah wasn't perfect, but the country was a lot more prosperous under his rule.

As to who to blame for the revolution, the blame falls directly on Carter and CIA. There was a great documentary done on what the CIA did under orders from Carter to destabilize the country to remove the shah and replace him with someone more easily controlled by the US gov't. Well, we can see how well that plan unfolded. Just add that to another of the long list of gov't programs that went well.

I am surprised they are still alive.

I would think the Republican Guard would have been called out and this protest crushed, Tiananmen Square style.

Not that bad. He was looked upon as an extension of the U.S. system. IE: Not ruled by religion. His replacement isn't elected and never has been. The current Iranian presidents power comes from the religious leaders and they call the shots.

Having half the population as slaves is just to much to give up to attain "western civilization" status.

The real leaders won't relinquish their power. Moderation is all that can be accomplished and won't be long until the "old system" returns.
