Any Good Mother's Day Stories???

Here's one for you!

... NOT mine, BUT a winner - I assure you!

Happened to a friend of mine - as told by Jake the other night
while at sea!!

'He made our mother cry. . . .'

My mother was a little bit crazy. She couldn't help it. She had to deal with five wild * kids, day in and day out. Four of them boys.

She made the best pizza for me and my friends, and she was patient, and wise, and wonderful, and I loved her and miss her a lot.

She was also a world class snoop.

She used to sneak and peak all through my brother's and my shared bedroom. I thought she was searching for porn, and my brother thought she was searching for drugs. We were young teenagers, and we had somehow talked our parents into letting us decorate our room any way we wanted.

So we painted everything pitch black -- walls, ceiling, closet doors -- and put up glowing black light posters, and replaced the overhead lamp with a four foot purple fluorescent black light tube. It looked cool in there. Like a 70's headshop.

We knew she was snooping around, but she was slick about it. We couldn't be absolutely sure.

One day my brother, the black sheep of the family, had a girl at school write him a letter. In it she wrote how she thought she was pregnant, and why oh why did she ever let him take off her panties that night, and she just wanted to die and on and on.

He hid it in his underwear drawer.

A few days later the bus drops us off, and we go into the house. There's mom, sitting on the couch crying. She had been crying all day long.

We ask her, "What's the matter?"

She can't even talk. She's sobbing Catholic mother sobs. Then she thrusts the letter at my brother.

"THIS. . .is what's wrong!"

He takes one look at the letter and busts out laughing. "I knew it! I knew you were snooping around in our room. Ha. Ha. Ha. I caught you."

Then he told her about the fake letter.

She was SO mad. I don't think she ever snooped in our room again, but I'm pretty sure my dad beat my brother's * with a belt for that little joke. [:D][:D][:D]

I know I posted these before, but here goes....

Mom was a beautiful woman, inside and outside, the perfect 50's "sweater girl",, always perfectly coifed, pressed, and would never think of leaving the house without make-up, but not vain. With her, It was just a matter of pride, and something that showed how classy she was.
That being said, my mom was book-smart, but a bit of a ditz at times.
One particularly beautiful Spring day when I was about 18, Mom set out for the mall to do a little shopping. I was sitting on the front porch reading the newspaper, and I looked up to see my mom walking down the street toward home. As she approaches, I said, "Hi Mom, whatcha doing?" She says, "Oh, it was just such a beautiful day, I decided to walk."
I said, "But Mom,....you DROVE to the mall."

    another true story...

The night that my Pappy died, Mom and her sisters and brother and their spouses decided to go out to dinner at an "all you can eat" seafood buffet. My Uncle Tom, who told the story to me, said that he was watching as my Mom came back to the table with a huge plate of peel-and-eat shrimp. As the dinner proceeded, Uncle Tom happened to notice that Mom's plate of shrimp was getting smaller, but there was no pile of shells and tails.
Uncle Tom said to Mom, "Hey Caroline, how do you like that shrimp?"

Mom responds, "It's good, but a little crunchy...."[:0]

    I do miss her....[:o)][:(][:D]
