Should We Regulate Black Friday Sales?

Three people dead in just a few hours, the evil shoppers need to be stopped. We could put serial numbers on shopping carts, you would need a permit to use one. Background checks for all who show up before opening time, and a $200 tax stamp to camp on store property. Store onwners and and toy manufactures held liable for such killings.

How else could we stop the madness??

YEAH! We could have JBTs at the entry to each storefront, "Examining The Papers" of each shopper, to see if they weere qualified to shop at the Commisariat's store.

My mother in law thinks that we should make a law that will regulate how many sale items they have in stock on Black Friday. She thinks the goverment should say that they should have more than 5 tvs for sale at that low, low advertised price.

Wanna guess who she supported in the election?

She does not work, never has. Sits at the house and spends her husbands money.

I could go on how nuts she is...

Maybe the should pass regulations saying that businesses CAN'T put anything on sale unless it's a discontinued item. That would avoid problems. Make people pay full price every day of the year.

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving, the day that retailers finally start making the years profit because of the holiday season.

A seven day waiting/cool-off period would save countless lives.

Why don't they just pass out numbers, first come, first served?

Is that what our society has become?
A need to pass out numbers to keep from trampling a man to death over Walmart merchandise?

I think it goes far deeper than that, into a subject that many don't want to talk about, or accept.[xx(]

nope. the last thing we need in this country is more government involvement in out lives. isnt that the opposite direction than most of us here want to go in?

    heres my solution:

do nothing. allow thigns to take their natural course. as these sales get more and more out of control, less and less civilized and intelligent people will attend. this would mean that, over time, the only people going to these things would be low class, ignorant, uncivilized savages and i for one am all for them killing themselves/eachother in droves. natural selection.

What sort of fascist regime would regulate commerce to the point of telling a business what they can and can't sell an item at or how many they have to have in stock? It's sickening that people would want such a thing.

We already have laws against false advertising, bait & switch, retail fraud, etc. We need less regulation of EVERYTHING, not more.

Y'all just completely missed the point. It was shoes that killed. All shoes should be regulated. Especially black shoes, because they look more evil. Didn't Hitler wear black shoes?

Then there are those stiletto shoes. They are named after a weapon. We need a special tax stamp, and extensive background checks for those.

How many of you were kicked, or had your hand stepped on on the playground? We subject our innocent children to the evil of shoes every day. They bear the scars to prove our negligence.

In conclusion: The world would be a safer place without shoes, and if you doubt me, look at the shoe prints on that poor Wal-Mart employee's face.

Seems I remember something like this happening over a Who concert in '76, only 11 were dead, numerous injuries. No more "festival" seating was the result.
Oh, and they were probably mostly white kids. Just a guess.

    Possibly,.....but I was not a WHO fan.
Big difference between an arena that holds 50K plus, and WalMart.

Nice try to avoid the issues of scumbuckets, and their attitudes that live in this country currently though.

How so, Mark? Point is, people died in an act of mass stupidity, over aquisition of a product.
