Me and hubby are going to be in Fort Payne area around the 4th of July. Never spent much time in that area. Was wondering what areas of Interest there is around Desoto Nat. Park. We will have three days to go exploring. Looking for historical areas

    Lots of waterfalls there and plenty of beautiful areas on Lookout Mountain. Desoto Falls, Desoto State Part, Little River Falls, Little River Gorge (there's a parkway that parallels it with lots of nice scenery). Things like that. A very nice area. Good Holiday Inn Express in Fort Payne right by Cracker Barrel and K-Mart if you need a hotel.
