having trouble with Burris mount fit chart...

I've finally narrowed down my scope choice for a new Tikka T3 lite .270 win to the Burris Signature Series 3-12x44 and am having trouble with their chart trying to match my rifle up with the correct Burris rings and base... (want to stay matte with it all)

I've been told by the B-Pro guy that whatever rings I go with, get the mediums to ensure the cover will fit, but the Burris mount fit chart says low rings for my setup. (I believe the lower the better... correct???) I've also been told the part that the factory rings clamp to on my rifle (sorry, don't know the correct name) is not "weaver" style, so there goes that choice in rings... They do list a specific base for the Tikka, but what does the "TU" and "DD" mean??? Double dovetail maybe??? I figure the signature rings would be a good match for the scope (and all are supposed to fit the recommended base), but am having a helluva time trying to figure out which one's and how! (How's the weaver style supposed to fit that base???) I may not be the sharpest tack in the drawer, and do have a bit more than a fistfull of smarts... but this has got me bumfuzzled![B)][B)][:)] Needless to say, this is my first experience with rings and bases, so be gentle.[:D]
here's a few links to make it a little easier for those that choose to help out...

Do you have another base / ring suggestion?
I sure do appreshiatecha'!!![:D]

I thought that the Tikka rifles came with a base and rings?

It comes with rings mounted on a plate which is apart of the rifle, which is drilled and tapped for a base.

I've heard too many varying opinions on the stock rings to chance it... I just want to get it right the first time.[;)]

Today's Tikkas come with their own tapered dovetail for rings. All I've seen and all the ones (30-40) at the shop have rings on them specifically for the tapered dovetail.
Half of the lives they tell about me aren't true.

Agreed. I'm not necessarily trying to get away from the supplied rings, but am trying to ensure the setup I end up with is as low profile with enough room for a cover, and bulletproof as possible. Bulletproof is the issue here... my web research has turned up alot of folks going away from the supplied rings for different reasons. Suggestions?
