Puppy Problems

I fixed a friends gun that his Grandfather gave him and did not charge anything for it. Today he came by and gave me a full blooded German Shepard with papers for free. So it pays to be nice.
Here is my problem he has threw up 3 times and pooped once. I think he is scared plus its thundering and lightning here so i dont think that is helping any ideas on how to calm him down?

Not sure if you've ever had a GS pup before, but hold on tight! You will be busy for the next year!

Most pups carry a pretty heavy load of worms. A common one is in the mothers milk. It is pretty much endemic and more dogs carry it than not. Not something to worry about as far as transmitting to humans, it happens, but so rarely it is almost non existent.
Look through the throw up, the worms aren't that small. A bloated or hanging hard belly are a sign of a heavy worm load. Check with the Vet and get him wormed when he is old enough. Puppy worms are pretty much a standard treatment, but if I can find one in the throw up and/or have them identified in a stool sample, targeted anti worm medicine is perhaps a better treatment. They usually need to be wormed twice.
Change of diet and worms are the two more common reasons for loose stool and throwing up.
Wrap him in a towel loosely and hold him to your chest, heart beat seems to calm them.
Hold him, or wrap him in blankets to make him feel secure. There is also this "vest" that you wrap around a dogs chest that supposedly makes him more secure. Try wrapping his chest in a towel, that might work. If he is very young, just holding him next to you will help.

Best advice anyone could give you IMHO
could be it was weaned too early and isn't tolerating solid food.
make a mush of puppy chow and milk and see how he does.

Have him stayed, hide quarters.
Let the vet do a full check, make sure he has his shots, parvo,
And the others.
Its time to Bond with it. It only takes a week or two for them to adjust.
Pedialite for the puking. Poop check for worms. Dude check to see where he's at for the shots. Then to the vets.
Pick up a crate, a gallon of Nature's Miracle. Why? 'Cos they don't come in 5 gallon jug. No raw hide but get something to chew on and keep him away to keep him safe from Parvo.
Like it's been mentioned get one good brand of eats and stay on it. If you can find it at Safeway it's not "good". Get the eats with out corn or wheat.
