Danner Boots?

I have never owned a pair until today.... 214 dollars later I hope they last.

Now the 214 figure is a little inflated I bought them at a local shoe store.

Used to wear Rocky bear claws for about two years.... Those were a 150 when you can find them...

Boots are a pain in the rear to find good ones that last.

I wore Danner WinterLights for years until both of my ball arches fell, then I needed a custom built boot, so have worn Russells since that time- but the Danners were very good with the exception that the Gore-Tex was way over rated for keeping water on the outside of the boot.

Yup, the above website runs great deals regularly. Danner boots work well for me.

I got these for $63 delivered. (Retail is $190) I like to shop local too, but... $127 will buy a fair amount of ammo!

I wish I'd bought 2 pair of those. Gave my pair to my roommate at the consulate in Iraq.

I did buy 2 pair of the Gore-Tex Rat boots when they had em. Very comfortable boots.

I got a pair of the second quality Danners, Acadia's for police work and I can't get used to them. The second quality was a vein inteh leather, nothing related to construction of the boot. I can't wear them long enough to get used to them. I bought a pair of Bates Delta Trainers and they fit like a glove from day one. I keep the Danners in my car as a back up pair in the event my others get soaked. Compared to todays boots, the Danners are heavier, less flexible and less comfortable. I'm not sure what others see in paying $289 for a pair. I imagine they would last a lot longer than modern boots, but they aren't built for comfort.

My dad bought a pair of Canadians for me when I was 12 years old at the outlet store on Marine Dr near Portland. I've had then since and still wear them every hunting season. I've used those boots from Alaska to Texas and they are still going strong. I don't wear them on asphalt often though, only when out in the woods.

I bought another pair 4 years ago because my dog chewed on the tops of my old pair. I'll admit the quality has gone down a bit, but they are still a solid pair of boots.
