If a person is convicted of a felony, [child endangerment] and is caught growing pot with guns in the house about 5 years later and almost 10 pounds of pot shouldn't they be charged for more than just growing pot? It's a class D felony they are charged with. Pot was being grown about 15 feet from the childs bed.

Sort of depends on how much he's contributed to the DA's election fund. If he contributed enough, he'll get off free, might even get his pot back.

The officers could arrest for all violations they see and can document. The prosecuting attorney decides what charges s/he will seek to prosecute. If s/he's lazy, the evidence is improperly obtained, or not so good, then charges start to fall apart.
