when the wife and i had are first son i sold my 97 suzuki intruder for 4500.00 to buy stuff for the new baby that was coming. We were young and baby wasnt planed. For some reason it didnt bother me to sell it for this reason. I had fun picking up stuff for the baby. bought all new stuff. 2 1/2 years ago my second son was born. He was planned but two weeks before he was due work decided to lay off over x-mas so money was tight. Well he was born every thing was fine and we got to take him home after 3 days witch happend to be my first day back to work after layoff. well when i got home that morning ( work nights) wife noticed the baby acting funny like twitching so we took him into the local ER. He was having seizers at 3 days old. They life flighted him to fargo and kept him in the NICU for 1 1/2 months. this wife stayed up there with him the whole time. I had to go back to work after the first week. Well as you can imaging it isnt cheap staying somewere for 1 1/2 months so i ended up selling most of my guns. all but the few i had gotten from my father when he pasted. It bothered me to have to sell them but i did it anyway. Now i was just starting to get cought back up to were i could start buying some of them again and work is laying off again. been laid off on and off sense nov last year. man i sure hope shiiit turns around soon. I would hate to have to sell what guns i have left. Anyway i just had to rant to get some pooptt of my mind and would rather do it here then at home. Wife and kids have enough stuff to worry about then my ranting...

My best to you and yours, rant away anytime!
That way we never really lose them and its an interest free loan with real collateral.
My friends helped me through a lot of hard times!
turns out it was a good idea.
i have been living well off of them since november last year when the mill laid off hundreds.
wife still has a job and we still have lots of coins.
glad i didn't invest it or trust the fiat currency, a worthless security debt instrument.
inflation sucks.

Got a few buddies I do that with as well. Some of the guns in my safe are not really mine.
All I kept was my 1974 LTD, my clothes and some personal memento's such as photo albums.
When I met my current wife, I was still in school and living in the LTD. She paid for a motel room for our 1st night together.
Really hope jobs pick up soon. Getting ready to go on the ext. to unemployement.
If need be I can make it but will be real tight on my Military retirement. Anything could really upset it.
always put as much of my paycheck into circulated (junk) silver american coins.
turns out it was a good idea.

Been poor a time or two and sold everything, kinda regret some of the guns.
What mill were you with, the one in Bonner MT? or another Plum Creek?
I got some parts from *, trying to get the boss to put them in but we are cut back pretty hard right now and just reduced hours again.
My x is being obstructionist in complying with our court ordered settlement.
So...I'm poor for awhile.
But - it will get better.

It was a "Frankenstrat," it had a '67 body and a '72 neck. It was the best strat I ever played, I was unemployed and needesd money for rent and child support.
