Why is It

Why is it that when you need something you can't get it but when you don't need it you can get all you want?

I am in serious need of plain ol cheap fill dirt (aprox 3 yards) right now for an area of my leech line on my septic tank that has washed out. Normally I can find free dirt all day long and people normally will be more than happy to even deliver it for free. But now that I need it the only thing I can find is one guy who wants $60 per pickup load for crappy dirt that is almost 50% gravel from an old road project that he did.

that people think only people in the military have seen things to bother you. Things that make it were you don't sleep or have nightmares. I have seen things in my short life that bother me.

I saw a plane crash with four people on board. I watched it burn and then watched the firemen roll the bodies into the body bags. I found a dead man on the street in Wichita, Kansas. I saw a lady get her arm caught in a press and almost pass out as we open it up to free her arm.

I saw the result of a tanker versus a cattle truck head-on collision. I saw a little girl hit by an ice cream truck!

I was hit by a camel jockey and ended up in the hospital myself. Hell, life is tough but some are not. Just an observation. Why do some feel that what they see and endure is worse than what others see? Don

Everyone is complaining about Mexico and the the US government? If you dont like it then do something about it. Noone is going to round up the mexicans so get over it. The US is not what it used to be, it is only going to get better for them and pooptier for us. Also the S is not going to hit the fan so there is no need for a bob, I dont understand why some people think the way they do. I have had some time while sitting at work, and if things were going to change they would have. But the end story is Mexicans will still cross the border illegally and people will do nothing, the government will take our pensions and there is nothing we can do about it. It is time that every acts like adults and gets used to it. Oh and the talk about the big revolution, not gonna happen, the government is to powerful now and its not like it was back in 1776. This is the way life is going to be.

When I hear of violence somewhere, most times they are Moslem.

quote:Members of the Muslim Uighur ethnic group attacked people near the Urumqi's railway station, and women in headscarves protested the arrests of husbands and sons in another part of the city. Meanwhile, for much of the afternoon, a mob of 1,000 mostly young Han Chinese holding clubs and chanting "Defend the Country" tore through streets trying to get to a Uighur neighborhood until they were repulsed by police firing tear gas.

that us older folks who survived the depression, fought in WW 2, came home and went back to work with few problems during our "useful life".
Now we (those of us left) see nothing good happening in our country.
We have drugs, high crime rate, school shootings, Christian religions
being targeted (along with Jewish religion), for all kinds of off beat so called religions including the Muslims. All these small minority religions are being catered to. Just where in hell were all these "minority religions" in time of need during war? Suddenly they just "grew, like Topsy did". Now that time for serving in the Military is over. How have things got so complicated and stressfull to cause allthe problems we are having? Has life became too easy and if things go wrong "big daddy U.S." will hold your hand and comfort you with money? I fear that the last generation of people that could "take care of themselves" is about gone. And God help us as now its
"what can I get from the Govt."

Why is it every time I say I am jumping in the shower my wife ends up racing in beat me?

Leaving me to wait with shaving cream in my moustache while she takes her sweet time.

This time I gave her the look, she left and I said thanks for turning the water on.

Its not like we don't have two more showers and a 50 gallon water heater.

    BTW
were we not going somewhere I would not mind her getting freshend up first[}:)]

When they show pictures of those commiting crimes in this area they have gotten real dark over the last year.

    forgery-suspects.jpg

quote:SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- Springfield Police arrested three Seattle women Monday for a string of alleged forgery incidents at several Oregon malls.

Police received a call from Gateway Mall in Springfield that the three women had attempted to pass a counterfeit $100 traveler's check.

Gateway Mall Security officers say they saw the women leaving in a silver Dodge Magnum with Washington license plates. Police in the area stopped the women at Beltline and I-5. Officers recovered high quality counterfeit travelers checks, cash and merchandise.

They arrested and lodged Louella Velma Craven, Carrie Lee Lewis, and Quinnetta Iesha Fant in the Lane County Jail on the following charges:

    -10 Counts of Identity Theft

    -10 Counts of Forgery 2

    -Forgery 1

-Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument

    -Theft 1

    -10 Counts of Theft 2

Police say several stores in Gateway Mall were victims of the counterfeit travelers checks including Kohl's, Target, and Ross. Valley River Center, Lloyd Center, Roseburg and Keiser also fell victim to the same crime.

That we as gun owners would rather argue among ourselves than take some form of action. How can we sit by and watch the "million man march" draw as many to D.C. as it did, and we sit idly by when our actual consitutional rights are being stripped? I am as guilty as the next person with inactivity, but I am curious as to your thoughts on why we *, yet do nothing.

every time we get into a `proxy' war with Russia, they send some equipment and a little money and we send our treasure (what's left of our borrowing power) and the cream of American youth do die in some overseas stink hole?

In the rare event we win, the Russians symbolically get their * kicked and we get bloodied and closer to bankruptcy. In the more frequent occurrence, we get bloodied and closer to bankruptcy and get our * kicked literally.

Enough is enough and too much is a damn plenty.

that I see people make the statement that Italian Berettas are better than US built, or German Sigs are better than US made, etc.
I have read in several places that Italian Berettas, (I'm talking specifically here about the 92 series) have better finish, but US made ones have tighter tolerances. Is it just opinion , like Jiff peanut butter is better than Skippy or Chevys are better than Fords, etc., or is there really some basis in fact. Sometimes I think people's opinions come from their latest magazine article.

When I see a bicycle riding in the road I want to run them over.

But see some folks riding a horse down the road I make sure to slow down and give them room. Even will shut the Harley off so as not to scare them.

when I watch "Quigley Down Under" I want a Sharps just like his?

So I was watching the "For a Few Dollars More". Got me wondering what was Indio smoking? He'll fire up that fat smoke and get that loopy look. Was it an opium joint?

Back to Quigley. I suppose I could've gone and watched "The Last Man Standing" but I needed a change of scenery. Also watching them Westerns I kind a want a 6 shooter. No I ain't gonna get me a real Colt. I'm going to go with the Pasta shooter.

Also I liked the 6 shooter Eastwood used on "Pale Rider". I don't know what it was (Rem?) pop the cylinder out and swap it for a freshly loaded cylinder and you're ready to go. Kind a reminded me of the speed loader.

Some demographics do not have the motivation to do things that are hard,(i.e. standing in line) therefore things must be made easier by their liberal owners representatives.

It is easier to vote multiple times over a longer period of time.

    My two best guesses.

The populations of some states, Texas for instance, are so large there is no way everyone that wanted to vote could vote in the short amount of time with the limited number of places available to vote.

My question is why do some states allow voters to change their vote, some up to three times if the voter voted early.

My area in Eastern Washington is a vote by mail county. Ballots were mailed to voters a couple of weeks ago. We have until the 8th to get them return postmarked; or we can drop them off at the county courthouse ballot collection stations.
I am uncertain if all of Washington state is like this, but it has been our norm for several years now. Other states may have similar operations.

The vote changing bothers me. How is that accomplished ? At least in my state there is nothing on a ballot that indicates it is mine. I could conceivably vote for a candidate, revote claiming I want to change my vote but vote for the same candidate. Somewhere along the line they have to throw out a vote of the candidate they assumed I voted for the first time which in reality would be someone else's vote. An easy way to legally tilt an election.

Yes, the whole state went mail in only a few election cycles back.

I vote early because by April, I have already made up my mind.

Only slightly different than absentee ballots.

All Washington is vote by mail.
Makes it easier for the democrats to count the votes until they get the results they want.
