Need good recommendation for most useful gun for small, female animal control officer.
She may have to dispatch small annimals through dogs, pigs, deer and cows.
Right now she has a 9mm S&W.

A small .38spl would probablly do the trick.

Can she carry a long gun?
    Some sort of carbine?

I would then say Ruger .44 Deerfield Carbine

If only a handgun would go with something at least .40 cal or .357 in a revlover

Nice .40 or .45 ported Glock smaller frame not sure of the model number would be nice

    Or

    Colt Defender in .45ACP

If force ain't work'n... Your not use'n nough of it.
I know the spelling is bad but guess what I DON'T CARE

I would say a .357 Magnum or .357 Sig but like Wagion said if she can keep a long gun something like that .44 Carbine or something in a Varmint caliber would work better than any pistol.I have seen Animal Control using .22LR Rifles before.I saw one on Cops finish off a wounded Deer with a head shot from a .22LR so thats something else to consider, keeping the 9mm and storing a .22 rifle behind the seat.

If things work the way they do here they carry sidearms and have Rifles in their vehicles.I would say the .357 sig my choice is a little to sharp.I would go with a 9MM.

A stainless steel "Snake Charmer II" in .410. Load with 000 buck will despatch anything she can come up with. Fairly cheap too.

For a small female I'd likely recommend a revolver due to a lot of females having small hands and not liking large semi-auto grips. However, if she could shoot it, I'd step up to a bigger gun (anything). Of course you know by my signature what I really believe everyone should have: [:D]

Shot shells from a .357 3~4" barrel to discourage a frisky bull, etc.
    A hi-cap semi-auto...any caliber starting with a ".4"
I think Para has a P-16 in 40S&W. That would be safe, and hold plenty of rounds.

She may have to suck it up and aquire a "ma duece" to handle that lot of beasts. Honestly if a 9mm with at least ten shots cant take a deer or pig out then she just wasnt meant to be the victor. Have her pack the 9mm with some +p hollow point rounds and she will be word to deal with those animals[^]
