Went to the auction today to look at some guns for sale.. Davis Derringers bringing 275.00,, A 1911A1 That had stamped on the slide "Model OF 1911" and on the Frame "Made in China" 650.00? Then some guy paid 275 Dollars plus 10 percent buyers premium for a Mossberg 500E Pump shotgun, which at the local Wally World New In box out the Door for 212.00..

I have been to a lot of auctions like that. People are strange and get carried away. It is good if it is your stuff they are buying.

Not so good around here anymore..auction houses are charging 30-40 percent commission.. [xx(][xx( Plus they tack on a 10 percent buyers premium making their take 40-50 percent of the PIE.. No WaY Jose!!!!!!

We went to auctions quite a bit back years ago, and got some great deals but now days its just a waste of time for that very reason.

Do they do background checks?? Maybe some of those bidding the high prices can't pass the checks and want a gun bad?

A 500E for 212 new? I can't find a used 500A local for under 200. And I don't remember them selling for under 2 auction side either.

Edit: appears I am wrong about used GB price.

one black and decker circular saw that had bushings so worn the blade had 1/4" wobble at the teeth brought $75 when brand new they were going for around $45-$60
