Just a little history why I feel the way I do

I went to an eye doctor in HS and he fitted me with hard contact lens. He said I would be blind by the age of 30 if I didn't wear them. My WWII Vet Dad wouldn't go inside the eye doctor's place. This japanese eye doctor lied to me because later I found out I had an undeveloped left eye from another Dr. and there was no way I was ever going to get vision out of that eye. I quit wearing the contacts. Cost me and my folks thousands of dollars. Now here is an interesting article on this dr. and his son. Enjoy.

Yeah, I concluded that was the connection. I didn't get it either. Perhaps there is a bitterness towards certain people and situations.

Misery to wear hard contact lens. Not these new soft ones. Ever tried the hard lens? Charged my parents thousands of dollars with no results. Never would have gotten any positive results. I want to see their faces when I walk in and say I can see just fine. I had a lot of load on my shoulders by an eye doctor telling me I would be blind at 30.

Boy ya must have been happy at 29 that ya could still see...you are one pathetic person...did you do anything to prepare for your blindness?...like get a cane or something

Only thing pathetic is a Dr. who would tell someone something like that.

I was not the expert in the subject. If a Dr. tells you that you have 1 yr. to live.... you might make it 1.5 or two or you may die in 8 months..but usually their expertise is somewhat correct.

I live in Minnesota and park my 71 nova for a 5 month period during the winter here..no "trickle charge needed" I park the car in a unheated pole barn and turn the key 5 months later and she fires right of...trickle charge is for guys that think they own a car that needs it...if ya know what I mean[:)]...oh and I might add the nova is from cali and was brought to minnesota in 1994..and still has the same trunk mounted battery...not bad 18 years and still going

When I was in High School, (not too different a time than when you were) EVERYONE who wore contacts, wore the hard lens kind.

The soft lenses hadn't been invented yet.

I'm sorry you found them to be uncomfortable. And I'm sorry your family paid for them.

But I don't understand your anger at the Dr's son...

I have no beef with the Dr. son. He died in Nov. 2009. His pathetic Dad is the one who screwed us out of money.

so let me get this straight, i apologize now if i am wrong

what you are saying is a doctor gave you a misdiagnoses on your vision as a child, so this justifies how you conduct yourself?

hell, in '85 they wouldnt give odds on my living the night, then that i would be in a wheelchair for life
they had "jump-started" my heart 3 times the first 24 hrs, re-located my spine THROUGH my stomache as they had that much laid out of me...
11 days later i WALKED out of the hospital!

again in '95 they were ready to take my leg below the knee
instead after 4 yrs, 7 operations and un-counted hours of therapy later i was told i would always need a support cane
got rid of the cane around '01, i now ride my m.c., ski and can still lift 200 lbs at 52 by doing things my way (pushing limits) after i was rid of the doctors and insurance idiots!
