My best gun is a mess

I guess I'm not allowed to say that someone from GB did it, so I won't. I sent it to a gun smith asking him to fit 28 and 410 barrels to my gun. He failed to do that and sent my gun back to me like this. Never the less my gun needs help. The trigger guard is bent and the stock has a deep gouge. Here are the pictures. Anyone one want to guess at the cost of repair. The trigger guard is what I'm worried about.

It's metal, that is the easy part. Pull it off, straighten it out. Re blue if needed. Metal is easy for me. The wood is what i struggle with all the time.

I have fixed much worse wood. That is an easy fix with the right person. I would also like to know his explanation for this damage. Did he offer to help with damages? If not, let us all know so that we can avoid him.

I do this all the time, i enjoy restoring gun stocks, and can match stains. This would be a good opportunity to replace that worn recoil pad. sorry I don't do this for a living.

The cost of a new stock?? around $250, just guessing

[:(][:(][:(!]sorry, that would really upset me too.

Its against the rules for me to name him Nunn wiped it when I named him earlier. I think because he offers his services here on GB. I don't think he posts on forums. He is from TN

actually a new stock would be more than that
the new wood could be had for around $250, but then you have the time for final inletting to the receiver, checkering if needed to match the old one, fitting recoild pad or butt plate, finish...

that all adds up to a lot of chargeable time when added together, especially when done by a full time smith who has to make his living from that work

so far i have been making less than minimum wage if i would figure every minute i spend on every stock or set of grips i do
it often takes a while longer than sending to a "real shop", but i think everyone so far has been happy with what they have received as well as the price
it takes a while as i do this stuff AFTER a full time job, doing concrete and re-modeling work as a side job, take care of whatever mom needs at her place, a bit of airbrush work on bikes/rods, as well as take care of my own place as needed...
seems i never sit still except when i check in here!
