reading up trying to i.d. a gun on the bench
steyer m1914 in bad shape
on reading in a gun value book it says 250,000 were confiscated by the germans when they took austria, and they were stamped with the romanian crest on the left side of the slide
this one has a stamp, but need to see an example of the "romanian crest" to know if this is it as of course none was given in the values book
anyone able to shed some light?

it was stamped on finished guns confiscated from the mfg dureing or right after the takeover by the germans
dont have a good pic, but is a rather ornate crown showing points just above the band (like jewels sticking outward) with a cross on the top, and 1912 stamped under it
This is the Romanian crest.

Is that what your looking at?
trying to i.d. the crown stamp.
book claims ROMANIAN CREST, why germans would stamp the romanian crest is where i get lost
The Germans did capture some and rechamber them. This link has some good info on that pistol.
not finding mention on it anywhere, so is it a normal austrian production stamp?
