Ok, found this today thought it was sort of neat. Certainly not something you find every day. At least I don't think so... Hope not!
While at Mr Lee's I noticed an ammo box of sorts under a cardboard box acting as a trash can for candy wrappers. So I dug it out and

Does it appear to be similar to a 30 carbine?
Rio- Pretty close, they are used for launching parachute flares from the Garand.
Waco- They do! It's called a Garand!
CDM- It looks like FN 58, no it is 30-06.
SF- It's 1958 production, were they still using corr primers in 58?
I got one of the flares the other day, but it's still sealed. I didn't post it because I figured showing you all a sealed paper tube would get me roasted. [:D][:D]
