All the people dying lately - my theory of Heaven

When we get to Heaven, I envision this place where those who have passed before us, smile at our fretting about death. They smile knowing something we don't, that what we see as a lifetime (70-80 years) they realize is the mere blink of an eye in Heaven. They do not fear our passing here on earth because they know it is the entrance to a place that time forgot and where time stands still.
They are in a place far more populated than the earth, because there are a lot more people dead than there are alive.
They share their place with big name personalities, like:
* The founding fathers
* Albert Einstein
* JFK
* Elvis
* Frank Sinatra
We cling to life, and they smile, because they know that life's biggest reward comes at the end.

Last night I dreamt that death came
and Heavens gates swung wide
with kindly grace an Angel came
and ushered me inside
There to my astonishment
stood folks I'd known on earth
most of whom I'd labeled
unfit of little worth
Indignant words rose to my lips
but never were set free
for every face showed stunned surprise
no one expected!

what is 100 years compared to eternity
I cannot comprehend forever
or heaven for that matter but I do believe it will be so much better than this life [^]
The Kingdom of heaven is not as crowded as you may dream.
Populated, not crowded. It cannot be crowded because there are no borders, no beginning or end.

Thats the problem with the place take a wrong turn and end up in HELL...or so I have been told
..."Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die."

No one knows. Could be the pearly gate and streets lined with gold, could be nothingness.
I believe our heaven and hell are right here on this mortal earth. To believe otherwise seems foolish. Then again, many people need something to believe in to make it through their life. Me, I believe I will have a glass of wine and read the flaming retorts following my post. [:)]
Most of the time I'd agree with you but I guess you won't find out until that time comes.
To be a real heaven, it must have 72 EXPERIENCED women....[;)]
Your pastor just told you that so your ghost would linger looking for earthly, earthy things....and posess them and make converts for his religion![:X][:I][xx(][?][?][?]
The chances there is any such place are vanishingly small.
[}:)]Perhaps that is your conscience whispering to you about your chances of getting there![}:)]
Too much philosophy!!
He's catching up with some people and notices there's a large sheet blocking off one area. He can tell there are a lot of people behind it. He turns and asks the guy next to him, "What's up with the sheet? Who are those people?"
"Shhh, keep your voice down," the guy says. "They're Catholics and they like to think they're the only people here."

find out where all those ideas came from, and dozens of other things people thought

It was only three years after this came out that the Scopes trial made headlines around the world. Proof that a little knowledge is dangerous. [;)][}:)]

I'm actually quite impressed. Very reasonable group here lately. I honestly got used to being attacked by our now non-resident preacher if I voiced an opinion pertaining to religion that was contrary to his beliefs. Funny thing, is that my beliefs are mine. Period. It shouldn't matter one tiny bit to anyone about my beliefs and no one has the right to tell me otherwise. Some people sincerely believe that they were put on this earth to save others. I believe those people are horribly intrusive and very much messed-up in the head, irregardless of their intentions. Mortality is an amazing wake-up call when it's tested and many of us here are getting a bit closer to finding out the truth about heaven (or hell). Too bad nobody can get the message back to those still here, if for no other purpose than conveying "the truth." [^]
It does go both ways though. Those who don't believe may not like it when someone preaches to them but then again those of us that do believe don't like it when we are berated because we do...even though we are to rejoice when persecuted...yup, God's still working on me with the whole "turn the other cheek" thing. [;)]
It appears to be the consensus of this group that one can make up his/her perception of Heaven, and that image will magically appear when we die. [:X]
That's taking quite a risk. [}:)]
I am grateful that I have discovered a far more logical -- and traditional -- explanation. [;)]
