Ads are fast destroying the internet. I use a good I want fees to go uper but web sites know that and want you to turn it off because advertisers "pay" for the content you are trying to view.
I was researching a car and tried to get a BB price from Kelly but the ads drove me away.
As I was watching the bar it said things like connecting to googleleads Etc.

Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

YES, I know GunBroker gets ad revenue from them, BUT IF THEY ARE INJECTING MALICIOUS CODE AND VIRUSES INTO MY MACHINE THEY AREN'T GOING TO SERVE ME ADS, PERIOD!
It IS happening. Educate yourself, or you are screwed.

Our local town paper will pop a full page ad wanting $17 to subribe in order to view it online. Just disable scripts and read it for free. I would not pay them 50 cents to subcrine to the paper version let alone view it on the web. Democrat this, democrat that is all they write about anyway. And complan about no one going to an event that was never announced until two weeks after it had taken place.
As it now stands I can limit what I do not want to pay for.

Most people pay $100-$200 a month for their cable and satellite and have to watch 15-20 minutes of commercials for an hour show. Be thankful for now for not having to watch 5 minutes of commercials before logging in to GB.
Why should the internet be any different then cable or satellite TV.

just great now you gave them the idea [;)]
I can ignore the ads it is the slow down to load all the video and crap that gets me
Yeah, things have slowed a bit, huh? The flash media takes up quite a bit of bandwidth, plus it kicks on my fan. Well, the systems kicks the fan up, because the CPU is tasked to do more operations.
Perhaps the Internet should go green?
In all honestly, and a bit of lying, too, I have no idea what the answer is.

That kind of Old Network TV is dying. I pay for access without commercials.[^]
