I bought a new TV we have cable service here in the country . The cable box for the bedroom has a threaded cable in from the pole and another cable out to tv/vcr but according to this new whiz bang smart Tv from Samsung I need a USB plug in to go from box to HDM 1 plug in slot on TV.
Trouble is there is no usb port on box...is there some sort of adapter or something?

Yep, a coax to USB adapter. Best Buy should have them or maybe even Walmart.

Your cable out on your box should go to a cable input on your TV. Smart TVs" often have at least one USB port that let you plug in a hard drive, flash drive, or other USB storage device to view media files on your television.

I don't know, could you use a coax cable from your box to the ANT IN input on your TV (center, bottom of the connections panel)? Select TV on your remote.

You should just need an HDMI cable from the box to the tv. This replaces the cable out to tv, and will give you a much better picture. Progam the tv by selecting the source (on the remote) as whichever HDMI port you plugged into.

You missed the point .... the cable box only has coax fittings no usb, I have the hdmi cable but no place on box to connect

It sounds like you need to update your cable box to a HD cable box. Not much point in having a wiz bang HD TV if you aren't going to have HD service.

Exactly. In fact, if you feed the new whiz bang TV with a Standard Definition signal when it's designed for HD you will be very disappointed in your picture quality. Check with your cable company and see if they can hook you up with an HD box.
