My best shot was on a running deer at 180 yards. I hit him in the spine. Lucky shot. He folded like a cheap tent.[:D] My dad was looking over my shoulder telling me not to shoot. Even he was impressed. I never told him it was luck just that he taught me to shoot.[;)]It was only a Y buck but I got him mounted. I have killed a few monsters but this will always be my favorite kill.

I haven't had my 25-06 long enough to do much hunting with it yet. Although it's going to Wisconsin with me in a few weeks to deer hunt.

I did however watch my cousin shoot a coyote with his a couple years ago that was very impressive. Over 400 yards. There was certainly a load of luck attached to the shot he made, but it sure sold me on the caliber.

Yes! when I had my B&L scope (Unertil Style) improperly adjusted.
Pulled the trigger and boom! Split my eyebrow wide open. what a bloddy mess that was.

ive had mine for a while, no spectacular kills yet. Itll keep 5/8 in groups at 100 yards with 100 gr core lokts. Still holding around 690 lbs of energy at 500 yards. Back in august they state made it legal to take coyotes with artificial light all night long. Thats more energy than most point blank 357 rounds from a handgun. Id try a whitetail at that range.

Both my sons and myself have taken numerous deer at various distances with the 25-06, but the most impressive was my yearling groundhog kill (standing) at 489 yards----measured distance !

I can do better than that! I bought a Remington 700 25-06 in 2006, and haven't fired it yet. It's stored out of state.

I have the 25-06 bracketed by the 257AI and the 257Wby, so not much need to split the difference.

I'm very new to the .25-06 and have not shot a deer or elk with it yet. Saw a tang safety Ruger 77 with a Leupold Vari X II in the used gun rack. Pulled the bolt out and the barrel looked like it had been fired very little. It's more accurate than I'm capable of yet. Only thing I don't like is ammo is more expensive than .270 Win.

I have a bunch of 25.06 target rifles and a single shot pistol. I really like the cartridge, but it always seems a PITA to reload for. Tempermental - will like IMR 4350 with a Hornady 75 VMax but not with a Sierra HP. The Ruger 77V will like under 100 grain bullets, nothing over. They all end up shooting well, just seems to take time finding what's good.

I have had My 25-06 now for over five years, and have not fired it yet.Seams that I always get hold one of the 270 Win.
The 25-06 will be on auction soon.

I have a Savage 110FP in 25/06 that has produced 3 shot cloverleafs with Remington 100 CL factory loads. My older Son had one of these groups posted on his personal webpage for several years.
The 25/06 has made some very impressive whitetail kills for us over the years.
