History Channel 2 is airing this series again.

It postulates what will occur if God decides to have a "do over"!

Very interesting program illustrates how fragile the human influence on this planet reaaly is and how quickly Mother Nature can reclaim everything that is man made. [^]
It's being willing. I found out early that most men, regardless of cause or need, aren't willing. They blink an eye or draw a breath before they pull the trigger. I won't. ~ J.B. Books

I always enjoyed that program. Humans are the ultimate blight on the Earth because we seem to imagine it as our own private playground. Once we are out of the way the planet will likely return to a paradise for whatever life forms are left. The Dinosaurs had a good run for 300 million years, I doubt that we will last another 3000.

A forum member of 8 years who participates with under one post per week allows one of those precious posts for me? I guess I should be flattered to some extent.

    Mark,
Paradise may have been a poor choice when describing this planet... With or without humans. The laws of nature are harsh and unforgiving. A natural death being almost unheard of and life a constant struggle.

Don't get me wrong here, there is beauty within a natural state. But also suffering, brutality, pain. and sickness. Maybe a paradise for an apex predator in good physical condition. Otherwise perhaps not so much.

..That's a fascinating series. I have it on in the backround as I roam around the house. Seems that I read a sci-fi book as a kid,
where only a couple people were left. Others were beast/mutants,
    or something.

    Tap,

Maybe not too different from our inner cities today. The beasts abound. They appear to be human but they're not.

No offense ment to you Mr. Christian. I think well of you.
However, there is no such thing as paradise. The animal world is violent and not Bambi like.

Yes, I have been around a long time. Been on this site most days.
No insult was ment for you. It is just that I have had to many Disney ideals shoved at my about how wonderful the world would be without human.

..That's the reason I won't go there, no more than I'd swim in croc infested waters. On the occasion that I have to go to Chicago, I'm on edge the whole time. Fear of the unknown?...[:0]

After a few centuries the only evidence of modern man will be a lone warehouse of Twinkies standing fresh and awaiting the next species with the munchies. [:)]
