Police officers working with the DARE program have issued this Warning:
If you are driving after dark and see and on-coming car with no headlights on, DO NOT FLASH YOUR LIGHTS AT THEM! This is a common Bloods member "initiation game" that goes like this: The new gang member under initiation
drives along with no headlights, and the first car to flash their headlights at him is now his "target". He is now required to turn around and chase that car, then shoot and kill every individual in the vehicle in order to complete his initiation requirements.
Police Depts. across the nation are being warned. Their intent is to have all the new bloods nationwide drive around on Friday and Saturday nights with their headlights off. In order to be accepted into the gang, they have to shoot and kill all individuals in the first auto that does a courtesy flash to warn them that their lights are off.
Make sure you share this information with all the drivers in your family! Please forward this message to all your friends and family members to inform them about this initiation ritual.

I have heard all sorts of variations on this "initiation" theme over the years. I doubt that they require a murder to join, draws too much attention for no real reason. These punks will kill but usually for profit or revenge, not just to get into the club. Also they know that killing innocent "civilians" really draws heat much more so than when they kill each other.

Better I guess to let them be. If they start shooting hopefully my 31 rounds will be enough. Speaking of, I always wondered, if you were to shoot out the window while driving, wouldn't the bullet be affected by the wind? Say you are going 70 on the highway, would the bullet be slowed down too much do anything if you were shooting at a car in front of you? I figure shooting at a car behind you with the wind direction would make the bullet go faster? Physics is one class I just don't get. Not to be off topic, but I would like to know how this works, contrary to movies.
You can make this complicated, but I'm going to make it really simple.
Say you are driving 70 mph. If you shot a .45, that bullet is going to leave your gun at 800 feet per second, or 525 miles per hour when it leaves your gun. (And remember a .45 is one of the slowest bullets. . .most are faster. . .some a LOT faster).
In practical terms, compared to the 525 mph your bullet is already going, another plus or minus 70 mph because of car/wind speed isn't going to make any difference. So you don't really have to worry about this effect at all (unless a 70 mph wind is blowing ACROSS your field of fire!).
Now, to get more complicated, you have to understand "frame of reference". But basically, if you are driving AWAY from your target by 70mph, the effect is as if the bullet were slowed by 70mph. If you are driving TOWARDS your target by 70mph, its going to increase the effective speed of your bullet by 70mph.
If you AND the target are BOTH heading towards each other at 70 mph EACH, the effect of the bullet is increased by 140 mph, and if you and the target are heading AWAY from each other at 70 mph, each, the effect of the bullet is reduced by 140 mph.
If you and your target are both heading in the SAME DIRECTION at the same speed (say both on a highway at 70mph), discounting air resistance, the effect of the bullet is the same as if you were both standing dead still.
Now again, for practical purposes this is meaningless. If are within pistol range (ie within 60 yards) and are heading towards your target at 70 mph, you have literally two seconds before your car reaches your target! (One second if you are heading towards each other at the same speed. . .ie you're both about to die in a head on mutual head-on collision at 70mph!). If you are heading away from your target, you have about two seconds before you are out of range.
Its speed in miles per hour is given by 3,300 feet/second /5,280 feet per mile x 3,600 seconds per hour = 2,250 miles per hour at the muzzle.... I seriously doubt a 70 mpg headwind would affect the bullet that much when its already going into the air at over 2,000 miles per hour. Plus since your travelling forwrd at 70 mph..... when it has slowed by 70 miles per hour..... it will still have the same energy as it has at the muzzle if you were firing from a stationary position.

getting proof would be kind of hard, the routine would require killing of the person, and dead men tell no tales, so there is no proof, and equal there is no disproof
i remember when this hit the news in the mid to late 80's, about the same time blacks where killing other blacks for their tennis shoes, but yet you think they would draw the line to get into a gang {LOL}, now days they kill for a set of rims,{i worked with a guy who got shot at a stop light for his wheels}
I would wager not one of you will ever flash your lights when driving through the hood late at night, "just in case", but yet will flame someone who had totally good intentions of posting this thread

1. I don't drive through the 'hood' as I don't use drugs and don't pickup prostitues.
2. I've flashed my headlights at a car driving without their lights on at night, and will continue to do so.
All I was saying in my earlier post was for people to do a little homework before posting something like that. It ain't that hard to do! People see something they think is sooo important to spread around the 'net, like THEY are the first one to see it, making them the chosen one to spread it around!

Thanks 1911a1fan. I use to live in areas in CA, NM, and AZ where our local police and OSI have warned us on gang initiations similar to this. I love target practice but I am not stupid. It takes a better person to walk away from any conflict and live another day to enjoy life at its fullest ... not foolish [;)]!

As for proof.. I think that if this was true there would be at least one documented case of a whole carload of people being mysteriously slain for no obvious reason. If it was a regular initiation there should be lots of carloads of innocent people mysteriously shot up.
