I love my job but have extreme difficulties with the senior managers (I am a department head) and the company I work for is on the verge of going under. Even if it wasn't in fianancial trouble I think I would be looking because of the problems with senior management. The problem is, I just took the job at the beginning of the year. It was a big step up with a big salary increase, so I'm a little hesitant to just walk away.
The question: what's the best way to do this without looking like I'm a job hopper? I have never left a job after only 6 months except for contract work so this is all new to me. I stayed at my previous job for 2.5 years and left due to finanancial instability in the company, layoffs, and a 3-month plant shutdown.

The 6-month thing won't matter much in the long run if you have another job you are going to. Even if it is less money, as long as there is SOME legitimate reason for you to leave. If you find the direction of the company to be questionable or the work environment to be intolerable then that qualifies as a legitimate reason. If it ever comes up in a future job interview then just be honest about it.
But don't leave until you have someplace to go!
