Yep call them up. Wife had the same, and it turned out neither Fed nor state received her returns.

    THINK there all screwed up.
One daughter got back $600 single no kids,
other daughter got $600 divorced and 1 child. they both make the same $$$ at the same job.

Friend said there letter said they will get $600, there check was for $1200.

Internet site said I would get $1500. (3 of us)dang check was for $900.

I think if your kids are under 18 but over a certain age 12? 14? you don't get as much for them. Also young independents don't get the reg 600, its like half...
I wonder how many people started spending money they thought they were getting?[xx(]

I got the letter saying ours was supposed to be mailed on the 16th also. Got it yesterday. I think they meant "On or about May 16th, or sometime in the future." The check is actually dated 06/13/08. A month after it was supposed to be recieved, they issued it. A couple days later they got it in the mail. My feeling is they realized they couldn't afford to print enough money to stimulate everyone at the same time, so they spread out the checks more than was initially planned for. Then didn't tell anyone to wait, they just used the old "Your check is in the mail" line (that letter about the 16th) on a bunch of us.Two days ago (Tues. night, my Friday) I was still seeing these coming into the P.O. for processing. We have to get priority mail out of the plant the day it comes in, so if we're still getting them that means the feds are still putting them in the mail.

We got our $600 on Monday and spent it on Tuesday. Always glad to help them avoid a recession.[:D]

I believe they have slowed down the processing a little. I have had several people call me asking about theirs being later than the charts indicate.

Not everyone is to automatically get the $600. It all depends on your income tax liability (tax rates applied to income less deductions less personal exemptions). SINGLE OR HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD RETURN - if tax liability is between $300 and $600 then the person would get the tax liability back. If tax liability is less than $300 then they would get $300. If tax liability is greater than $600 then they would get $600. However, if a person's income is too high, then they would get nothing. Add to these amounts $300 for each child age 16 or younger. MARRIED RETURN - if tax liability is between $600 and $1,200 then they would get the tax liability back. If tax liability is less than $600 then they would get $600. If tax liability is greater than $1,200 then they would get $1,200. Again, high income people would get nothing and add to these amounts $300 for each child age 16 or younger.

bgjohn - some people apparently do not understand why everyone is not getting the full $600. My post simply explained why. The next time I post, I will type s---l---o---w as, apparently, you do not read very fast. Take a deep breath and concentrate.[:)]
