The Night Of 9/11

With all of the hype surrounding the release of `Flight 93', I thought I'd share my little experience of the night of 9/11.
I was working the midnight shift. It was a warm, cloudless night in the Chicago suburbs. As we all recall, all flights were grounded. I remember standing next to my squad car with Pete, a buddy, and we noticed a plane in the sky! It was rather high up, and was flying a rectangular pattern around the Chicago area. Every once in a while, one or two smaller planes would join up with it, then leave. My conclusion was that this aircraft was a tanker, and its job was to refuel planes moving around for the upcoming battles.
Anyone have similar experiences?

I AM LOOKING OUT FOR ME! AN AMERICAN... I would never ON THIS EARTH place my loyalty anywhere outside my country! And I wish I could just place my loyalty with my state.. but my state is failing me! I am ashamed that KY leads the way in the fight to remove A.D. After death and B.C. Before Christ from the timeline... I am hurt! seriously! I love my state but that right there hurts... I only hope some of them strong men from Arizon, and Hew Hampshire migrate here! For we all know a *can on a trackhoe couldnt drag me out of Kentucky!!!
We had lines a mile long going down the road from the gas station I was at. We had people enter at the side entrance and leave by the main street which kept the traffic flowing and under control. The gas station ran low on gas and people were unwilling to let the tanker in. We had to stop traffic one way and let them drive down the other side of the street to get to the station.
The next morning I filled up at the old price, gas didn't jump up. They waited until this year to do that. [xx(]
By the time I started to work the gas had jumped from something like a buck ten...to 1.75....and the lines were a mile long.
By the way...I really didn't see "Fear" on the faces of most people...in spite of continual news casts to the contrary....rather. a healthy dose of fury, as soon as it become apparent that the Nukes wern't next....
A couple of stations even jacked the price up to $3+ and they kept selling, but the city fined them later.
Did the city give YOU YOUR MONEY BACK!!!!????
GOVT A REAL TRUE GOVT IS MEANT TO SERVE ITS PEOPLE!!!!
Not to hijack my own thread.........
I was watching a show on the History Channel a while back, and they kept referring to "Before the common era"..........it that the new 'BC"?
And another thing..........why are newscastors and narrators dropping the 'H' from words that start with 'H'........For example:
Tonight on the istory Channel, we will cover an istoric event. itler is invading awaii since e failed the olocost.
Just a silly example there, but have you heard it on TV and radio?
AD is Latin for "anno Domini" (meaning the year of our Lord)
Thus ends todays lesson
I tell you, what pissed me off was some of the students reactions. THe teachers were watching, and had several crying. The students (roughly 3/4 of them) were laughing and joking around, not even paying attention. To them, this was a fun day, none of the teachers were giving them work. Had one student who was watching say, "If we go to war over this, I am going to Canada or Switzerland (sp?), after all, what has America done for me?"
There was only two others I can remember who were actually paying attention to the screens, and who seemed to understand the tradegy that was unfolding.
