SOMETHING IS SO VERY WRONG WITH THE SYSTEM...

Talked to a woman today whose hubby is on disability...He is so bad off according to them, that the can hardly walk, but he can get out and ride a harley,...he can lift full 5 gal water bottles ( over 40 pounds) he can go hunting and travel for his favorite sport, which is motocross and he races...

What the hell is wrong with a system that would have ppl on disability that can do all the fun stuff without any problem but cant hold a job????????

Cant the "ones in charge" see the fakers?...the liars?...it really ticks a person off to know WE are paying their bills, their mortgage, cars, toys etc while they are off playing around..

I told her exactly that, and her response?
Well why not milk the system if you can?
I told her cause she is hurting every honest american person who is paying her hubby's disability ..

She said the gov't is paying the disability, not the tax payer...

I told her, and just who the hell do you think pays the gov't????????????????

Ooooopss...sorry its blackroses not classic....he is logged in and I didnt check first..

Something else...she drives a newer car than I do...I mean I really dont care cause I can at least back my truck to a lake and not worry if it gets wet or scratched, but damn, I thing we just bought her car for her...she drives newer than us and the tax payer bought it....sheeesh.

She has over 12 dogs, goats, ducks, chickens, rabbits, but NONE is used for food or to sell...they are PETS...

and yes both her and her hubby smoke and drink....it makes me so friggen angry to know I am actually paying her bills while she sits on her * doing nothing but smoking and drinking...

I am disabled veteran, I live in constant pain, I have problems lifting 10 lbs, when I need to get a few guns from the safe, I have to get the wife to get them out for me, I love to hunt, but cant, because I cant walk far. I have seen a few that claimed to be disabled doing things that really, doing this things, he should not be getting disability pension, but knowing how the system worked. I know one guy that has a heart problem, but he does drive his Harley, I am not going to throw stones, being I live in the glass house. But I does make you wonder.

My bil is a contracted investigator for insurance companies and he says he's seen it all. Videotapes from a conversion van. He said alot of the doctors are also filing fraudulent reports for these people just to keep them coming back for checkups and physical therapy. It's one big scam.

And don't forget about the folks who really do need it, but can't get it. Many. It is all by design. Disability is un-constitutional. That being said, it would be nice if functioned as it is supposed to. But it won't. Governement programs are designed to fail, and to sap ever more resources from the working citizen.

Good to hear a conservative post from you.

There are as many problems as there are Untied States.

Usually, outright fraud like that catches up to people. (IF ther is a complaint)

Sometimes, matters of confidentiality can keep Social Services workers from sharing things they know with even the Law Enforcement Agencies.

I don't think I could live with myself if I turned someone in. Knowing only what you get to see from the "public" view can't really EVER give you the whole story on what really is going on. There are lots of people out there that need help and can't get what they should....but I don't want to ever have to be the one that pics who gets what.

    Not true.

edit: unless by minority, you include white trash. Don't think the governement does, though. If you mean a deserving member of the white race, one who actually needs it, then you are correct.

The "ones in charge" couldn't care less, so long as the gravy train keeps rolling.

The ones who see it everyday are the social workers who have to deal with them....and they either don't have the authority, the resources, or the time to go after someone they may suspect of fraud.

Just the other day a story ran in the paper about a West Virginia woman who had been nailed for Social Security fraud...she had been collecting benefits for a child that she didn't have.

    Total fraud: $16,355
Punishment: 5 years PROBATION and she'll have to pay the money back in monthly installments.

If the woman had instead stolen a case of Pepsi from the local Wal-Mart, she'd be thrown in jail...

One day this past July I had to go to our local SS office, to update some paper work, located in one of our rat hole cities. Couldn't believe the age of people waiting to be interviewed. I'm 75 which made me the old man cause everyone else was younger than 50 and that could be a little high, what a sorry lot of people, some even stunk more than beard of a Billie goat

My thoughts were I was stuck in a room full of moochers looking for the easy dollar, only a couple of them out of about twelve looked like they might need help the rest needed to clean up and get a job and some needed to learn English. Disgusting experience

    By design.

    Instead of sniveling, take action.

If you don't, you are part of the problem, not the solution.

Maybe not in Appalachia, but several generations in Tennessee, and that's the way it is here. Up in the Northeast, same thing. Florida? Ditto. NOLA? Also, ditto. Southern Kalifornia: Don't know and don't care.

Are there exceptions? Yes, sure, but generally speaking, it's a lot, lot easier to get on disability if you are a minority. Maybe the bureaucrats don't think it's worth fighting a racist rap.

She is using her food stamp money at the grocery to buy food for her pets. You can buy baloney and hot dogs but not dog food.

Would not bother me in the least to get out a camera and start snapping photos or shooting video. Like the man says. "It's my money" and I do not like it going to some slap nut system sucking leach. If he is scamming some insurance company or workers comp. They will be glad to pay you for reporting them.

Different situation. But I got fed up real quick with a dumb * drunk woman coming on my property beating her 2 year old Grandson because he "Did not tell her where he was going". The kid would be out playing in the yard with all of the rest of the kids. When here she would sober up enough to go looking for him. Then start beating on him. When I had .enough. I started watching for her with a video camera in my hand and when she started yelling, cursing at and beating on the kid I would record it. "what do you think you are doing?" .... "Nothing but getting a few shots to take to the welfare office. Why?"

The kid nows plays in the yard with the rest and I have not saw her since.

I have had folks tell me I am scamming the Fed Gov.

They look at the days I am up and around and say "look he is up and around." They miss the days, weeks or months that I may never leave the house. I went 9 months one time and was not able get out or to see the Dr. I hunt in my yard from my wheelchair, and even that is to much for me most years now. I have livestock but I dont care for them that is done by others, I let them feed some stock on my grass for them caring for all the critters.

I know I am not in it for the money, I get in one month les than what I was making per week when working. I miss having a few dollars in my pocket to just spend as I see fit.

For me I get most of my shooting related items through trade, most of the time it is my small tractor that gets used for the items I need. I have bought 2 guns in the last 7 years, and that was mostly do to luck. Dont tell everyone but one was a Hi Point.

When my Dr finally said I needed to apply for S.S. it took 29 months to get approved, even with the S.S. Dr's saying we cant fix him. The denied me based on my age.

I know folks who apply and get a check a couple months later and I often wonderd what they claimed was wrong, because like many they have no outward apperance of ill health.

The S.S people just dont seem to care.
Here is an excample, I got a copy of a bill for just over $800 for a Dr I never saw, never had any Dr of that type. I called the number on the back of the Medicare letter and told them it must be a mistake and told them why. Two months later I got notice they paid the bill anyway.

My wife cares for me daily, she gets a small paycheck from the State because it is cheaper than having me in a home. (I would have to chained down) Now with her having CHF we are in a real bind. Does she apply for S.S. and wait many many months to find out she is denied and must keep trying? What do we do for money while this is going on? We lost everything but our house when I applied for S.S. .

I agree the system needs a lot of work and it would seem like the cost of cutting off the scammers would pay for the investigators to find them.
Just smile and say nothing, let them guess how much you know.

here,s what pisses me off,i had cateracks in both eyes. i had one operatered on and a new lense put in and it is fine. both eyes were just as bad and the doctor kept me comming in every three months for over two years to look at the other eye, saying every time it was not ready to operate on yet,it cost my insurance 125.00 for each visit. i just quit going and found another doctor who is going to operate on my eye in two weeks. so the other SOB conned over 1000.00 out of my insurance company.i wonder how meny people he did that to? eastbank.

    It is a screwball system.

Three years ago I had a bad injury to my leg. It was broken at the knee, all kinds of soft tissue damage, the leg was crushed under a big pine tree.
I was on crutches for 3 months after the surgery, that surgery went bad, after 8 months was back on crutches, 6 months later had a second surgery, total knee replacement.

I was as disabled as a person can get, as my work is construction and home remodeling. So I should have gotten disability.
I went to talk to one of these SSI disability lawyers who advertise in the newspaper.
She told me that it would take yet another year for me to get SSI.
But, we would have to go before a judge, with medical proof that I was disabled.
If I showed up before the judge on crutches, or better yet in a wheelchair, with a note from the doc, I would be in like Flint.
Since, a year ahead, I was planning to be healthy again, it was no use trying.

But, this gal asked me if I ever felt depressed. I told her "Hell yes I get depressed, I am on crutches and can't work."

She said she could set me up with a psychiatrist, she gave me the names of 3 psychiatrists that she worked with.
She said that after 6 months of seeing the shrink she could get me disability based on depression. I would get $900 a month from then on.
Of course, I would have to keep seeing the shrink, once a month or whatever, in order to keep my benefits renewed every few years.

In other words, she was coaching me on how to commit SSI fraud.
I mean, who doesn't get depressed? I didn't want to see a shrink and take meds, I just wanted my knee to get better. Once I could work again I wouldn't be depressed.

So I took a pass on the psychiatrist deal.

Anyway, it is a screwed up system, I should have gotten disability benefits for over 2 years when I was physically disabled, but couldn't get them, but was offered the chance to get bogus disability benefits for life.
