There is no surprise that the oil filter is extremely quiet, just look at the volume of the filter when compared to a standard suppressor and you can see that the filter must be able to contain 10 times the gas.

But, if you want to use sights, they have to be HIGH mount.

Not so fast.. did you see the second video. Must register the filter with the adaptor.
Looks like he said the 308 blows it apart in 10 rd.Watch video from 3 min to 5.30 min. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=As6wtZLdCgQ&feature=watch_response

they will also sell you the adapter minus the registration as a way to collect solvent dripping when you clean your gun. it functions the same as the registered part.

me thinks cadiz gunworks is playing with fire...

they'll replace and reserialize the filter for 25 bucks including shipping. so 75 bucks for the first one, 25 thereafter(for as long as they remain in business, although i bet anybody with the right license could do it) and you have a functional supressor for just about every caliber.

not the wort idea i've ever seen.

it would be a down right brilliant idea if the end user could change the filter. cheap supressors for all.

even as it is, its not badly priced. i'd be interested to see how they mark the filter itself and how the paperwork is marked.

for example, if nothing about the filter appears on the form 4 and the serial number is merely electro penciled on the filter, the end user could swap the parts out and it would be pretty hard to prove they did it.

if theres a more elaborate system then it would be harder. still and all, 25 bucks to change the filter isnt that bad. probably could be done even cheaper if you got buddy buddy with a local type 7/10 with sot.
